Here is an idea for a game that I came up with. Basically it's a ball a paddle game except you have to navigate the ball to a goal star. You can move the paddle in 4 directions and also rotate it. I plan to have a 32 levels, enemies, obstacles, and other stuff too. It's just an idea for now though, but I wanted to see what you guys thought.

Brick Block was originally going to be something like that, but then it became a completely different example game as I lost interest. I don't think rotating paddles work well with a keyboard. I got the idea from a Warioware Smooth Moves minigame where you rotated the Wii remote to rotate the paddle.. but I realized it was sort of impossible to pull off paddle rotating that felt right on a keyboard.

I'm with Irock. Manuel's game has a rotating paddle and it doesn't feel right with a keyboard.
On the other hand, try moving the paddle with the keyboard while rotating it by moving the mouse left and right. I suspect it's more intuitive.

Yeah, for rotating also we can use face mouse behavior from Baloons game.

Uhm, I was thinking right now about using the mouse wheel for rotating (down for clockwise and up for counter-clockwise), but the problem is that Stencyl doesn't support yet on the Controls page. There's any Flixel code to make it use of it?

Not as far as I know, but there is generic Flash control code for it. You just need to search Adobe knowledge base for mouse wheel.

Laptop users (which are many) will be locked out if you rely on the mouse wheel.

If you can afford a laptop but not a wireless mouse than you must have mixed priorities.
It doesn't really have to do with affordability. A lot of people use laptops because of their portability and not a replacement for a desktop (i.e. you're not always at a desk when you're using a laptop, making a mouse impractical at times).

And some laptops have area on side of touchpad which acts as mouse wheel. Even saw laptops with touchpads which allows both horizontal and vertical scrolling.

Nobody would want to use those clunky controls while playing a game, though. I know I'd much rather find a game that didn't require mouse wheel controls.

But it'd be great to scroll in-game highscores or good for sniper games (scope).
