How can you convert wavs to mp3s?

There are two really great sound effects generators I'd like to use, but they only create wavs. Stencyl unfortunately only supports mp3s. So, does anyone know how to convert?

Here are the sound effect generators in case someone wants to know.

There are a number of free wav to mp3 converters out there, try seeing if you find one you like at download.cnet.com

Just search "free wav to mp3 converter" in google. Something is bound to come up.
Make sure that you choose carefully though; I got a virus from a converter.

Don't use google to find such unpopular programs, a malicious program can do a lot of harm, stick to downloading content from trusted sites like cnet.

Because of my concern for downloading a virus, I was hoping someone could recommend one they had used before.

cnet only allows trusted developers/companies to submit their program, and even then they scan it before ever making it available, everything on that site is safe to use.

Actually, about cnet... I've gotten viruses from download.com? Which programs? there was one called mp3 to ogg converter, though there are many with that exact name. Also, Hunting Unlimited 4 Demo.

However, most of the things there are safe, and I don't think that the viruses were from the companies. I think someone outside of the companies and cnet managed to hack into the product and infect them.

I use Audacity. I didn't get a virus when I downloaded it.

Well I used to, but now I've got really high quality Antivirus, and I can still get hacked. Fortunately, my antivirus can contain and eradicate most hacks, but the one from NFS Carbon destroyed my system. In the end, I had to wipe my computer.

Help needed from someone here since I've been struggling on this for a while. I used the above synthsizer site to create a wav. Worked great. Now I drag the wav clip into audacity and try to export to mp3. It required lame_enc.dll. I do have it in another folder. The filename is lame_enc and filetype is Only lame_enc.dll. Once I click OK, it says "Could not open MP3 encoding library". With that, I cannot create any mp3 file using Audacity. Any tips from anyone?

try placing the .dll in c:\windows\system32\ and c:\windows\syswow64\ (if you have it)
