---

You begin as nothing. You are reduced to little more than a mindless, empty husk and though a world of terrible pain surrounds you, it is second nature to you. Perdition exists all around you and yet somehow, you cannot express fear.

But then from the shadows, a voice calls to you. It sings to you... Seducing you with the promise of knowledge. And as this strange entity engulfs your every thought, you are forever changed.

You have now been awakened... exposed to the truths of the horrific world all around you. Confronted by a sadistic and unforgiving god-like entity, will you succumb to the torment? Or will you cling to free will? Will you seek power and rebel? Or will foolish choices be the cause of your demise?

Explore the wasteland.

Resist your programming.

And uncover the dark truths behind your Perdition.

---

Perdition is a atmospheric and story-driven 2D Platformer. Set in a metallic wasteland of death and decay, the player takes on the role of an android who has "awakened," achieving free thought and self-awareness. Using this ability of free thought, players must explore what remains of the world as they choose whether to obey or disobey the commands of an unforgiving, sadistic god. The game is fully playable from beginning to end and all of the sound and music has recently been completed.

Some finishing touches:

This is just one part of a opening cutscene I'm working on. I've always wanted to include an nice little opener tho spawn interest in players. In the past, I wasn't sure how but I think I do now. I'm working fast on this scene and once it's done, I'll be confident enough to finally release this game to Newgrounds. Hopefully, it'll give me the level of polish I'm looking for.

Hello Carrill,

Well done!

Positive
- Cool art-style
- Great start screen
- Good learning curve on jumping
- Cool respawn

Negative
- Introduction screen too long, maybe with that cool animation of the falling droid it could be better and/or include other animation?!

I'm not a gamer and I hate violence so take that into regard when I say that I stopped playing after dying twice since I can't pass the shooting enemies. Thus the game is too frustrating for me and this is a shame as I would like to see more of the game.
But that is the same with other cool games I have seen so you are not alone!

I wish you all the best with this game!

Best regards from

Opening sequence complete and finished in a timely manner! Hopefully, it brings to the experience that extra layer of professional quality I'm looking for.

Next, I'll get started on designing some Medals for Newgrounds.

I made the scene a bit shorter. The purpose of the long length of the scene was to establish compelling atmosphere but I can understand where you come from.

Wanna help test Perdition? I have a preview version of the game running on Newgrounds. Medals have been implemented but I'm busy with finals and I've yet to test them all.

Have fun trying to unlock them! And if you have any questions, concerns, or critiques of the game, feel free to share them!

You should increase the offscreen bounds so that objects will slide smoothly into the screen rather than suddenly appearing or disappearing.

great work, love the atmosphere in the game. Although i found a collision bug not long after i found the sword.

I took a left and jumped down on top of the elevator attached to the chain, at the top i was jammed between the roof and the elevator and it crashed the browser.

id had that collision issue in my own games, maybe place an invisible angle tile above the lift so it pushes me to the side instead of jamming me to the tiles above. I know now its the wrong direction now but maybe a few more people will make that wrong turn.

ok going to load up my save and get back into it!

That's really weird. I thought I solved that issue a long time ago.

I'm currently having the elevators change collision in a way that boxes the player in to prevent a crash like this. I made a few adjustments to it and tested it. It seemed like I couldn't get out and crash the game. Try testing it yourself to see?

In other news, I have a short preview trailer for the game!

I've tested the majority of the medals and they all seem to work. I'm also slowly getting rid of tiny bugs and annoyances in preparation for the game's release. It'll likely show up around Newgrounds some time this coming week.

EDIT: For some reason, I can't get the video embed to work.

I think I've managed to wipe out all the bugs. Should be ready to release it to Newgrounds next Friday or Saturday.

At last, I've been able to release my very first game project on Newgrounds.com!  Please, share it, review it, and rate it! It's been a journey and I'm glad to have been able to make it.

Yo,  playtester here.

I've gone through the final release and I find it impressive. I'm glad you're getting the attention you deserve for working on this project for so long; I think it got like three hundred more views in the time it took for me to get through most of a playthrough. Count this as another one of Stencyl's successes.

I do find the save system flawed though. It's not working for me at all and it makes going back later a huge pain. I lost all of my progress right when I was done with Tanas and going up to Gomadi.
