Anybody up for the Public Domain Jam? I read about it today and I think I might do something for it. The Idea is that you pick a story that exists in the public domain and make a game about it. That's the overall theme, but on 17th, there's something more coming up theme wise.

Read more about it here:

I think you need a stencyl license to take part, because the game needs to be uploaded to itch.io Not sure though.. I'm getting one very soon, so I can release some android stuff anyway.

You can upload flash games to itch.io, it even supports embedding them into the page, so no one will need a Stencyl license for this jam.

I'm glad that people are making an effort to encourage using less-used ideas instead of relying on the cliche, overdone stuff. This jam isn't for me though because I don't particularly like old classics public domain stories either.

Ah, cool. Flash is ok.

I like the fact that it's not the same ole same ole too. And I even found the strangest folk tale from Finland. It's about this mechanical "robot" that plows the field. The villagers always say hello to it, but it never replies. They start talking about it being rude and full of himself. Of course it cannot answer, as it is a machine designed only to plow. The story ends in the robot drowning in a ditch, because the guy who is supposed to turn it every time it reaches the border of the field fell asleep. There were claims that the villagers had something to do with it.
