Thanks for checking it again.  Here's the newest one with some very minor tweaks to the in-between frame.
and one with a bit faster transition:

I think the one with the faster transition looks better.

I'm thinking the same.  Still might need like two more frames of in-between animation though…

Definitely the one on the right. I don't think it needs extra frames. It looks like he's turning.

The right one looks a lot smoother to me. With the extra frames, he'd appear to turn slower. I think it's better the way it is.

Really excited to see another composer/ sound designer taking an honest crack at building  their own game with Stencyl. Awesome work so far! Will be keeping an eye out on this s one.  :o

Hi Kyle!  Thanks for the encouragement.  Honestly I'm not sure if/when Replicator will ever be finished.  It's a bit too ambitious for my skill level.  My pixel art animation skills are horrendous, lol!  I should probably scale way back and try and finish something, like one room, etc..  But it's motivation like this that says to me 'maybe I should work on it some more.' :)  I really like your 8Bit Symphonies btw.

Thanks Adam,

I appreciate you listening to the tunes. I know what you mean about ambition (I like your pixel art by the way); I feel similarly with the project I'm working on but hey, this seems like a pretty great tool with a good community to support that ambition.  Best of luck man!

Best of luck to you as well Kyle!  May I ask what project you're working on?  I do like the community here a lot!

Thank you kindly. I plan on making a dev journal in the near future (want to make sure I haven't bitten off more than I can chew first). Hope this doesn't come off as spammy, but it's easier to show than explain what I'm working on. It will be a puzzle-platformer tentatively titled Illuminated; still need to find the right character designer/animator and flesh out more of the mechanics and such. But I CANNOT wait (and I'm sure you feel the same with your game) to finalize the sound design and music for this.

Also, loving the gravity manipulation in your demo; it's a mechanic I plan on utilizing in my little game as well. It's too much fun.

Wow!
Looks very nice.
Separating the backgrounds and having them move with different speeds will add a lot depth!

Looking good Kyle.  Thanks for sharing.  You doing your graphics in Inkscape, Illustrator, etc.?  I am looking for to the music and sound design game for my game.  I already have some weapon sounds done but my crutch right now is art assets and I know I need a boatload more.

Much obliged for both of your comments. I've been doing most of the work in GIMP and this program called Paintbrush for mac, but I still have so much to learn about art and design (I'm not an artist by any means). Some of the assets I obtained from Graphic River and OpenGameArt, but I know what you mean, I always seem to need more assets.
