16 mb limit, and I exported mine to my pc and it's 28 mb.

I only have....

1 font
1 tileset
1 song (9mb)
1 mp3 sound for gunshot
9 scenes (only 3 levels, rest are intro and text pictures for the story)
8 behaviors
16 actor types (7 of these are just a .png of text)

Here's the original game.

I added 2 more levels, 2 more stories, ending text scene, credits.

I don't know where the space went. What are my options?

i dont know what programs you're using, but you could try compressing the images. for example, in Gimp when you export you can set the compression level from 0-9, which in end will give u a smaller file in terms of data. i personally havent noticed the difference in quality but i have been working with pixel graphics so im not sure how noticeable it is for images with more detail or if compressing the images would help you out any.

I will try that, thanks. Is there any way to see the file size of each file, while you're in stencil?

If you want your game on Web, check your settings for scaling, and make sure they're all x1. Did you even bother searching for this? I bet there's at least 200 threads about game being too big.

The thread isn't about the game dimensions being too big, it is about the filesize of the .swf generated being too big.

Did i say anything else? We are talking about the compiled game, either in SWF or APK. Do i seriously need to point out the 100's of threads made saying "Game size too big OMG PLEASE HELP". I had the issue too, and the only thing that is the cause of this is the SCALING.

Why? Because the game needs to generate depending on the default settings at least x1.5, x2, x4 ( i think it's x4 too depending if the user imported it at x4, default is just x2) graphics. And these do severely affect the size of the game. If you want it for web, disable the scaling in the game settings.

Also you can try PNGGauntlet to reduce the size of your PNG's dramatically (for me it reduces most to 1-5% of their original size)
