Oh theme voting began? /me goes to vote.

I don't know if I'll be participating; I didn't take any time off but I might spend some time on it during the weekend while I'm off anyway.

Wow, I can't remember ever liking so many of the themes that I've seen so far. I had a whole lotta' +1's in these first two rounds. "Destroy the System," "This Happens To Me Every Day," and "You Must Leave It Behind" stick out in particular. Could really challenge the creative juices.

Hopefully I'll be able to put something together for this event. I really like most of what I'm seeing so far.

I'm pretty intrigued by the ludum dare and want to give it a try, but I was wondering about the source code aspect. Is that just the stencyl file, and is it likely going to be "borrowed" by others, or do people generally respect that it is yours?

Yes, the .Stencyl file suffices as code. Sharing it is optional if you participate in the Jam instead of the Competition. Will it be stolen? It has happened in a limited form in the past; but most devs don't consider 48 hours of effort that valuable. For games that have gone to commercial releases, I have always heard that they started over from scratch. If you are doing anything you can to get it done in time, code quality suffers and you do whatever it takes.

I'm a little disappointed in the results of the first round. So many downvotes... X(

But alas, so it goes. I'll live. :)

I'm in too (well, I think, at least).
It would be my first time, and I'll try to stream it on Twitch, to show it to some friends of mine (and to all the others that are interested).

Are there other stencylers who stream ? I'd like to see how others make games. :)

ACP regularly/occasionally streams while he uses Stencyl; I don't know if he's participating in LD48 but you could check him out. I have the capability but generally will not since I lack a second monitor and a quiet place. The latter is needed if I am to use a mic, the former so I can see chat while I work. Oh well.

Here are my votes for the final round. I'm pretty happy about most the possible themes. My favorite theme is Growing. I have a few ideas for that.
