September 9th Apple Event

If there is a larger iPhone, I hope it has the same aspect ratio as a previous model so making games for their display is a breeze. (3-4X graphics could have a play but you wont need to resize for 3 different sizes, just 2).

I also expect to be able to develop for the iWatch if the rumor is true, only so I can grab a bag of Funyuns as I watch my dad squint at the small display and curse technology.

If the watch is what a lot of people think it is, I don't think it'll have an App Store. Right now it looks to be more of an accessory. If this is the case, I certainly hope it's $199 or under.

I want an iWatch pretty badly but if it's $300 for an accessory, I'm going to skip it.

If it does turn out to be it's own device, likely with a  nice circular display, mini apps mostly centered around getting information will be cool. Don't plan on playing Angry Birds on your watch though. :)

I would like it to have an App Store. Not for development on my end, but as you know since you follow me on Instagram I like taking pictures. I would for sure love to remotely take pictures and have any other advantages that a watch can do. Of course, if it costs an arm and a leg id rather pick up a canon t3i,  t5i, or a GoPro.

Still hoping Apple had it's developers in mind and kept the aspect ratio of the supposedly large iphone 6 the same. They had developers in mind for iOS 8, so there's hope!

Yes, If they force support for the new screen size, they should make it somewhat easy to add.

As far as a watch App Store, it might be a good idea but they should provide good guidelines and information as I can see it being a disaster if developers don't know how to properly make use of the screen size and such. I don't think the instagram app is the best idea because let's face it, it's going to be for consuming information (like notifications) not creating it.

I'd much rather have no camera (space for better battery) and the watch geared toward consumption than a bloated watch that people are trying to use to email and such. If apple can do it right though, either way works.

I think instagram on the watch would be a terrible idea. But a button that remotely makes your iPhone take pictures would be cool. I could already think of some awesome uses for it!

A camera won't take much space believe it or not, I think it might come with one to compete against the samsung gear. Of course, that's if the watch is true.

It'd also be cool if it was water proof at least to a certain extent.

Aside from the technical difficulties (loud Chinese lady was loud!!), almost everything was great. Here's my unedited Reddit post from /r/apple:

Steve, The iPhone is only less expensive than the Apple Watch when it's subsidized with a two year contract.

Kinda bummed about the larger screen on the iPhone. Nothing really enticing here personally.

The Apple Watch looks very interesting. I'm glad they're using a dial for zooming, because as was pointed out, pinch to zoom would be maddening on such a small display. I don't like doing it horizontally (in portrait orientation) on the iPhone, so there's no way it would be very user-friendly on a display the size of a watch.

However, I have some usability concerns with the dial. Its functionality is contextual; it zooms in some circumstances and scrolls vertically in others. Scrolling vertically, as I imagine it, is probably more user-friendly with the dial than is swiping the small screen, so I'd imagine my intuition when I want to scroll would be to use the dial, but sometimes the dial's going to zoom, presumably in 2D interfaces like Maps and Photos. But in single image view in Photos, it would seem very intuitive to use the dial to go between photos since you are essentially going between photos in one dimension, but I'm pretty sure it's going to zoom. One might also just want to use it to scroll vertically in the full gallery itself, even though it allows for 2D scrolling. So you'll be forced to switch between two input methods for scrolling unless you just never use the dial for scrolling at all. I don't know how this could be handled better and it's not a huge deal, but it is something I thought about when watching the keynote. Maybe if it had a second dial this wouldn't be an issue.

My mind wants to turn the dial to scroll vertically here.

Nonetheless, it looks neat and useful. I might get one along with an iPhone when I get some income.

I'm also skeptical of the watch homescreen. It's a sea of unorganized app icons.

Good news for developers: apps will apparently auto-scale.

It's still in 16:9, with more pixels though (thus some loss of quality is expected).

For your concerns about the crown, Irock, I'd say that is kind of annoying but it'd become what the user is used to pretty fast. Having two dials is cluttery and unnecessary so having one makes sense to me. Maybe adjusting the software so everything /more things scrolls vertically.

The home screen is nice in my opinion, looks open and inviting.

Apple also thought mice should have only one button, but I disagree with that; my mouse has five buttons and a wheel and I use them all. Interfaces should be simplified until the point where if they were simplified any further, it would degrade the user experience. I think having a dial that has different functions when the current function isn't immediately clear is bad design. I'd be quite shocked if my mouse's scrollwheel zoomed in my iPhoto gallery instead of scrolling. Of course you can get used to it, but that doesn't mean it's necessarily the best way to do it.

Granted, I have not used it and can only go by video.

It still looks clear as to what the crown does - even if it could scroll  vertically and horizontally  you'd think it'd be clear what the crown does but as you said, we don't really know without getting our hands on it. I'd be interested to see some people use the apple watch without ever having heard of it - see if the UX is really natural.

This looks like it scrolls but based on a video I just watched, it zooms. This wouldn't be an issue if the crown didn't handle vertical scrolling in some instances, but it does.

You sure? Why would it need to zoom in that screen?
