So you need a font....

I'm working on a new iOS app that (for lack of a better name so far) is called "So you need a font..." that helps you find a font for your project. This app was first thought of when I realized so many people choose terrible fonts not because they like them but because they don't know alternatives or what would be better fit.

Update 1 - 9/8/14
Working out the design and here's the main selection screen:

Why is "game" a heart? ???
Do NOT PM me your questions, because I likely will not respond. If I have replied to your question on the forum, keep using that topic. Thanks!

Why is "game" a heart? ???
It's a reference to "lives" in games. All those icons are potentially just placeholders as the overall design and layout was more of what I was trying to prototype. Some of them will probably change.

Been sick so I've been home from school just working on design. Here's the evolution of the design (still being evolved though!): http://imgur.com/a/7yHG2

Yes,heart = game is kinda confusing.
Maybe use some joystick icon or something like that.
But looking nice and cohesive.

That's a placeholder. Better design is at the bottom of http://imgur.com/a/7yHG2

Very nice app idea :)
You could also call it... "Fonts are more important than you think and you might have no clue anyways!" :)

:P Actually the current name is probably just temporary.

Went in a whole new design direction involving a more simplified color scheme. Working on the UI now https://www.youtuberepeat.com/watch?v=ZiscTm8mav8&feature=youtu.be

I like the original design too. I wonder how many fonts you want to include in the final app?

im not sure who would use this. Categories like school, letter and invitation are mostly for people not using fonts for commercial or professional. while logo, website, book etc. are for professionals working as designer or something.

i would only include categories for "non professional use" and fonts that come with windows and office.
Because theres too much information you need for professional use. Lets say im looking for a font for a book. But what i really do is looking for a font family to use. I need to know if it has a italic style, ligatures, contextual alternatives, the licensing, the price...

Thank you for the feedback. I would like to add that the design is subject to change and although I like the current design, I'm in the process of getting lots of feedback on the design and it'll definitely be changing at least a few times before the release.

As far as the target user, it's for people who don't know much about typography/design but are making things like books, websites, resumes...
