Android: Difference between running process and cached?

Hi guys,

I've been monitoring my stencyl-built app's RAM usage and it seems to be high at 50mb. But i noticed other apps had similar numbers, but they are chached while mine is running (active). What is the difference, can I change it, and should it be something for me to worry about?
