Adventure Beyond - Series

Hi there! I've been lurking around the forums for a few weeks while I've been learning Stencyl.

I'm currently working on a challenge and made my first game last month.  My wife and I have a baby boy due any day now, so I might have started this challenge at the wrong time, but I'm determined to pull it off. Here's my profile there:

I'm approaching the challenge by creating very small games (1 - 3 levels each) in varying gameplay genres while trying to tell a linear story throughout the games under the umbrella series title of "Adventure Beyond".

The first game in the series was "finished" last month and is playable here:

I'm working on the next game of the series called "The Last Starship" which is another top-down style game in the same vein as Defender or Gradius (only way simpler).

I'll post various progress reports here when I can. I can't wait to interact with this community and share my love of games with you all.

That looks fantastic for your first game. Keep it up and congrats on the upcoming baby :)

Thank you! I still have a lot of polishing to do on the next game, but I'm posting the work in progress here:

I have the skeleton and flow done. Next I need to add some sound and then actually fine tune the levels (I just have some quick placeholder enemies). I made a little spawn enemies behavior that spawns on a timer and a list attribute, so I'm able to easily edit levels in a shooter like this.

Anyhow, I wanted to get something out there for this month since I'm pretty sure our baby is going to be born in the next day or so and I probably won't find much time to do the polish work. At some point, I will though and I'll write up a retrospective too.
