Sorry, nothing jaw-dropping so far. But good stuff nonetheless. :)

Don't worry. Your game is looking good. I'm sure you'd have a jaw-dropping stat one day or the other.

I take pride that I was the first to comment on this thread :P

Just tried this and I was impressed.  It's quite a unique yet simple concept that really plays well.

Unept - you were surprised about the feature - were you notified during Apple's review process that they would feature it?  After it was released?  Or no contact at all and just saw that it was featured?  I'm just curious , have yet to get the feature spot.

Definitely well deserved.  I think the game is great.  It has really nice balance and polish

It was a surprise. From what I understand, editorial will contact you if they're considering a game for a feature other than Best New Games. Hue Ball had some good press from TouchArcade and Pocket Gamer a few weeks before launch, but when the game actually launched there was nothing. In fact, Maxglockling sent me a screenshot of the feature because I wasn't even looking. That's how I found out. :)

I take pride in that I tested the game almost 3-4 months ago.  :) :)

Stats from June 18 - June 25, during U.S. app store feature:

- $1900 from interstitial ads.
- $100 from $1.99 iAP.
- 121,000 downloads, ~17k/day.
- ~200 ratings/reviews, unsolicited, averaging 4.5 stars
- Around 9% active players after 7 days. I didn't design specifically for "retention" (I designed for "fun") so 9% after 7 days sounds great to me.

This week:
- ~4,500 downloads/day (Mostly Europe)
- Over $150/day
- Downloads will probably drop by 90% after Europe features end this week.

That is not Ferrari money. But it is definitely Keep-Making-Games-Because-It's-Fun money.

Also, another nice review with sweet gameplay animations: http://appadvice.com/review/hue-ball

Beautiful Stats. How about this? Re invest the earned money in advertising? But you should ensure an advertising method that will show the game to the audience who haven't seen your game already. ;)

I'm not interested in trying to run an advertising campaign. Also, if you do the math, that's not even $.02 per download, though that number will go up over time. The biggest lever right now is to make a few design changes based on feedback and get it on Android. After that, I'll probably move onto another game (doing that already) and keep Hue Ball in maintenance.

I want to make games, not run a corporate empire. (paraphrased from Bill Watterson)
