I had posted, but then I read what I posted the next day, and was thoroughly embarrassed by it. I just loved the genuine-ness of your "Senpai noticed me" moment.

I always have moments where I wonder if I made the right decision to quit being a professor. I know that I am not a great developer. I know that I am not a businessman. I know I am not an artist, musician, designer, etc., etc., etc. Having someone I admire say that I am on the right track is pretty awesome :)

Oh, I completely understand the sentiment.  I hope you didn't think that I was trying to make fun.  I know that there are some key people that I look up to that I would be thrilled to get a couple of affirmative words from.  That being said, I'm not taking as big steps as you are so I completely understand.
What I thought was funny was the fact that I kind of think of you the same way you think of him, so to see someone I admire say that about someone he admires was fun.  That's all.

I admire anybody trying to be an indie developer. For instance, your wife inspires me since she wants to be an independent software developer/coder. Even though we disagree a lot, Colburt and thechaosengine are also my inspiration. Hearing about Bhoopalan's and Kramer's experiences helps me keep things in perspective.

Nobody's journey as an indie will be the same. The best you can do is gather as much information as you can and decide which path is right for you. Thank you for saying that you admire me, I will keep pushing myself to live up to the expectations :)

I really appreciate your progress report here ceosol its very inspirational. I have spent many years writing storylines and ideas for games as well as playing music. I always wanted to apply these ideas and musical talent in the world of game development but never really had the resources to do so. now im hoping that will all change haha. so thank you very much for the inspiration as well as the shared mechanics reference.

Poe, thank you for the comment. Since I am not very good at developing or artwork (as it has been pointed out ad nauseam), I struggle with unique challenges as an indie developer. My biggest talent is creating opportunities out of nothing. Some day I may be good at this and be able to relax, but I am not at that point right now. I wish you the best of luck in your endeavor to be an indie. Hopefully your concept writing and musical talents will push you further than me :)

I have been dedicating a few hours each week to my own projects. I haven't really been taking on new contracts unless it is someone contacting me through Stencyl (I'm always up for helping out the community :) ). Things are going well. We've been getting a lot of compliments on the new art style and feel of the game.
