This topic has always intrigued me and I always had a feeling there was a looot more on the internet than the first few pages of google searches

It truly makes the internet seem like a dark and unexplored place

Kinda reminds me of the Undernet from Mega Man Battle Network, lol. But it doesn't seem like the same kind of thing at all though.

Undernet sounds cooler than Deep Web.

It really is, the surface web is only 137 TB, and from what I've heard the Deep Web is 10 x larger and the Dark Web is 1.5 x larger.

Listen up all of you uneducated masses. If you go to the deep web you will be V& by the F.B.I. They already know about it (because some people cant keep their mouth shut and others want to be white knights)

BUT!

You get the idea (hopefully). The deep net is not a joke. It makes "A Serbian Film" look like "The Mickey Mouse Club". Also just going to an illegal site (even if you didn't mean to or were only there for one second) you will most likely go to jail.

The "Deep Web" has nothing to do with illicit activity, although pages related to that could be part of it. It is simply content that a traditional search engine crawler cannot find or access because of the way it is presented (dynamically generated content) or because it is orphaned (no links in or out) or because it is on networks requiring a log-in (as well as several other cases).

Most of it isn't bad or illegal, it's simply raw material or websites not indexed by search engines.
