Can't open project

I had my Stencyl projects saving to a specific folder on an external drive. I've since moved to a new PC. I have my project folder that seems to contain everything. But the only file that looks like it could be the main file is game.xml.  Tried to do "Import Game" but doesn't seem to do anything. Any way to be able to open my game or was something lost on my old C drive?

Hi there,
1.The best way is to do an export on your old PC where you had everything working fine, then take that file should be (.stencyl) then import that file onto your new PC.

2.Alternatively you can go to your Stencyl's directory and find your game file (Stencyl\stencylworks\games)  copy that folder from your old PC then simply paste it in the same place on your new PC. Just make sure Stencyl isn't open when if you use this method.

Hope this helps,
Matt.

Ugh! Don't have access to the old drive. Has been wiped. I assumed everything was in the project folder and that is what I was backing up.

You don't import it as a file but as the whole folder. The folder containing game.xml should look something like the attached image.

Open Stencyl, go to Debug > View Workspace Folder, and open the "games" folder inside the workspace. Drag the folder containing the files up there into your games folder in the new workspace.

If you happen to have a ".stencyl" file, all that is is a .zip of the files you see in the attached image, renamed from .zip to .stencyl. You can easily create a .stencyl yourself and then import it like you normally would.
