Nice idea, Blob. :]

@Hectate: Looks nice! In general though, try saving all pixel art in PNG, it'll make your art much more clean and close to how it looks in the actual program you pixelled it in. JPEG tends to muddle the image.
@Masked: Lovely graphics, I'd love to play a game like that.

Here's a sneak preview of some graphics for Lit-Switch's new project...

Possibly the best tiling work I've ever done.

reminds me of Bastion (epic game)
Its like sex but I'm having it.

I made an in my opinion pretty nice Ground Sprite last week which i want to use for a platformer. But after looking through the graphics topics here I realised I still have a lot to work on. I made a flying rock for a higher environment and a ropebridge.

We have some amazingly talented artists here, but yours are not bad, especially compared to the stuff I've tried to make! Keep at it, and I'm sure you'll improve a ton!

There's a lot of great stuff here.

This is probably the most complex pixel art I've ever done. I may try to improve my skills if I decide to make a game using this StencylWorks program. I've never really made anything larger or more detailed than emoticon pixel work.

I am only a recent convert to pixel art, butI am a trained fine artist who grew up in the Microsoft Paint era, so I find it comes fairly easily to me (not that it's easy or anything though).

I also am lucky enough to live in the same city (Toronto) as some of the best Pixel art game makers going (Spooky Squid, Superbrothers, Capy games. All are super nice people, by the way!) who are also big inspirations for me.

But here is a little bit of art I made in lieu of a business card at for an event recently (a list of who's who can be found on my website http://www.bethmaher.com/blog/2011/12/hip-ladies-an-8-bit-history/ )

They are very very nice. Just wondering how much time it would take to draw one of these characters. Also, if I need to do a platformer with one of these that include running, jumping and all that, how much effort would it be?

Do you also get commission for these art or are they simply hobbies?

Here's a little wip scene I made, as of now I don't know if I'm going to make the game myself or if I just want to do the art if I can find someone interested in making it, I have already done all the animations of the main character, but I need to work on the background, they are my biggest downfall :P
