Newgrounds.swf Corrupted

I was trying the crash course. When Testing the game for Flash (Player) or Flash (Browser) I get the following error. It is the same if I try to test one of the sample games:

2017-06-05 03:04:04,840 INFO  [Thread-10] stencyl.sw.util.StreamGobbler: [haxelib] Error: The input swf newgrounds.swf is corrupted

2017-06-05 03:04:04,856 ERROR [pool-1-thread-2] stencyl.sw.util.dg.MessageDialog: Encountered errors while building your game.: Check your logs and post them to the forums.  - Please describe what you have been doing. Be as specific as possible.

EDIT:
I forgot to tell that I use Ubuntu 17.04 i686 (32 bit)

Good question. I will ask.

Let us try to narrow the problem down.
Is anyone using Stencyl with Ubuntu 17.04. i686, or any other 32 Bit version, and it works?

I'm using Stencyl with Ubuntu 16.04. I haven't upgraded to 17.04 since I want to keep the LTS version.

After some testing, I found it it only does not work with Flash.
HTML5 is just as good, right?

HTML5 exporting is still in Beta, so you may run into problems. I've tried it before and certain things weren't working, but that was quite awhile ago. I can't wait until HTML5 exporting is ready. I really dislike flash!

If it works for you though, then all is good.

I'm getting the same error.

Although I'm on a Mac 10.13.1 and Stencyl 3.4 public release.

Has anyone found the cause of this issue?

This has been the case since High Sierra was released back in September last year,  apparently it's fixed in the beta of 3.5 but 3.5 is by all accounts too buggy at the moment to use seriously. No effort seems to have been made to correct it  in 3.4 public release, or beta release, even though the issue - which i think is prety serious - has been mentioned numerous times in this forum.

This gives me serious concern as to the continued viability of using stencyl. At some point in the future, Apple will update xcode or ios and break something in Stencyl, and as paying subscribers it is plain that getting things working again in this sort of situation  seems to be pretty low on Stencyl's priority list. So ask yourself, do you want to continue working for months on your game knowing that if this happens you are going to be stuck at the whim of Stencyl?

I think you need to have a recent openfl to not have the problem, that's why you need Stencyl 3.5.  But maybe there is a simple solution; what if you delete all reference to newsground.swf from the engine. Would it work ? I don't have a mac so I can't try.

It doesn't work as well as Flash. But still works pretty well. For plenty of games, it doesn't make any difference.
If you're starting a new game, maybe it's a good idea to test directly on HTML5. :)

PS: seemed to be a problem with flash builder, so maybe the the first solution won't work

I'm also having the same issue, did you find a fix?

I am having the exact same problem, I work with a Mac with High Sierra 10.13.4. Although I have the newest version of Flash installed. I cannot export it on Arcade and only test it with HTML. The real problem now is, that I can't export it in HTML either!

It shows this:
ERROR [pool-1-thread-1] stencyl.sw.io.write.resource.HXWriter: Failed: Building for HTML5. (Return code: 1)

I would need this fixed by the end of the month but when I see the date of this thread I am not very optimistic. I really hope somebody is working on this or found a workaround for Mac and apparently Ubuntu users.

You'll need to provide more of your log to get help.

The newgrounds.swf issue is not planned to be fixed for 3.4. Stencyl 3.5 will be publicly available soon.

Thank you for your fast reaction! I downloaded the Sample Game Dungeons and went Publish > Arcade, this is what I got:

As mentioned, the newgrounds.swf issue isn't planned to be fixed in 3.4. I suppose I didn't make it clear, but that's the problem with Flash export. In other words, Flash export from 3.4 on High Sierra is simply broken and won't be fixed.

If you upload a log containing the HTML5 error, you might be able to get some help. If as you said, it only recently stopped working, then it's hopefully something we can look at and figure out with the version of Stencyl you currently have.
