Trying to think up a new game.

I've got my old idea but it was really on a whim in response to that old Dream contest that has long since past.  I've got a few offers from people interested but I'm not sure I'm interested.

I've got a few more ideas but they're far too complex, basically full games and would be somewhat unrealistic.

Then I have a few more simple ideas but I'm not in love with 'em.

I'm hitting a dry spell of good ideas.  Inspire me.   ;)
I want to make a game.  My brain is a no go currently.

Go for a long walk.

Maybe instead of thinking about what project you want to make, think about what you would enjoy doing now (drawing, music, etc.) and do that without a specific goal in mind and see where it leads.

Maybe you need to start thinkng of the details that interest you, such as specific characters or levels or boss fights, rather than thinking in big abstract ideas which are inherently less interesting and absorbing.

Maybe start by imagining yourself playing a game. Feel how exciting and fun the game is, visualize the game and see what comes up. Find out what is interesting about it that you'd like to capture in a real life version.

I can't even get my REM World to load anymore after one of these updates.  There was a bit of work into it but the thing bugs out on like four behaviors and I have no idea how to fix 'em.
Does the Run and Jump kit not work anymore?  I even tried with a new game and it still won't work.

Anyways I'll probably think up a game...  then maybe make a design document for it and a few example graphics.  Then beg for coders.  :P
Still not sure about going back to REM World...

It should be working - I just started with a fresh copy of SW, downloaded the kit and everything appeared to run without error.  If you're running into issues I would be interested in hearing about them so we can get them fixed up.

I love to just see something random and think "What if..." Granted, I'm doing it constantly, unaware that I am. Game ideas are everywhere but you have to be watching.

Try maybe mixing two things you've never seen combined before... Say, easter egg hunts and dinosaur eggs. Hah

I think you should focus on making something very simple and getting yourself towards self-sufficiency. You aren't going to go very far with the "get a coder" mentality. Strive for independence, and you'll be in a much better position for it.

All of the kits, provided you have the new copy of SW 0.9.1 off this site, are working. Greg and others have spent a lot of time these past 2 weeks going through each piece of content and making sure they all work.
