Tried to find answers all over the place, but could not find them. A block I am trying to use (recycle self) has an exclamation mark in a yellow triangle, and when I mouse over it, it says "this block is deprecated". What does that mean? Thanks!

The exclamation icon means that it is a blocks that is functionally replaced by other block, or no longer needed.

In the case of the recycle block; It now does exactly the same thing as the kill block since all actors are now recycled as default.
