Stencyl seems to be kinda dead

I hope I didn't come across as too negative, I love using Stencyl 3.4 and am super excited about 3.5.

It's just that I'm no longer working in isolation, I have an investor and other people working with me on our next game, so I need to be a bit more pessimistic about things. I don't strictly need to compile for flash, but my work flow is so much quicker when I can quickly debug in flash, then do a check of the feature on the device.

We're still looking into a solution for the flash issue, but does cppia not work? That should (in theory) be an even better approximation of the game's behavior on a device than flash would be, and it's the second fastest compilation target in 3.4.

It definitely is worrying times though. I want to update my backlog of games to the latest xcode and iPhone X but my tests in 3.5 have not gone well. My boxing game that runs flawlessly in 3.4 runs at 20fps on an iOS device. Apple will eventually stop featuring and supporting games released without Xcode 9 and iPhone X support. The decision to not keep a stable up to date version of the engine while working on the 3.5 beta has damaged my confidence.

The game I released a few days ago was using xcode 9.1. I do not have an iphone X to test on. Would you like me to  try adding you on TestFlight to see if it works?

Was it in stencyl 3.5? I know 3.5 can do iPhone X but my game runs at 20 frames per second in 3.5

What I noticed was that lots of sound effects going + particle effects had a huge impact in 3.5 but not as much in 3.4.

As a small update here, we've brought rob1221 back on board to help us sort through 3.5 issues more quickly.

I've gone through the issue tracker and triaged all the issues people have had with 3.5. If anybody has issues not in the tracker which I've missed (in other topics, in discord), it would be great to get them included.

I am glad to know this.
captaincomic was also quick and effective fixing bugs. But, unfortunately, he disappeared a long time ago.
Nonetheless, let's hope things improve from now on.

What happened to Jon? When has he posted anything lately? Is he still at Stencyl?
He is the most mysterious owner of a product I've ever seen. You just can't find any info or picture of him anywhere.

Yeah I also wonder about Jon, this company structure for sure it's not a conventional one (I also found shocking to hear that there was no mac or ios device to test stencyl functionalities in the past).
I'm happy to hear about rob1221 on board, but I think there's still a lack of roles, i.e marketing, even if the product is still being developed the lack of info outside this forum or discord is worrying, as a potential user I would check the site and not feel confident at all about stencyl, and for existing users the lack of general activity makes you think twice every year before renewing.
It's a shame because the core product is fantastic, I think it can't reach the full potential because the obvious lack of staff, I also think Justin is doing a great job.
Since stencyl is the software I most use every day and I also enjoy the most, my wishlist:
- more staff to take care of existing version (the public available version should work under current OS environments always)
- clearer roadmap of new features (available in nightly builds)
- more hype/excitement for new & existing users
- way more mobile integration (supported officially)... solution for rewarded ads, analytics, facebook logins etc
- a bit more info like an  "about us" section on the site would be appreciate too

Can't wait to see the current bottleneck gone and start seeing new features and activity around stencyl

I don't even remember the last post I had, and yet I read the forum several times per day.
The thing with regulars...over the years we've seen the same questions over and over again, and most of them were answered, so we only reply to the ones that are new, that challenge us, but most questions can be avoided by a simple use of the search bar in the forum.
