Hi everyone, :)

I read an article today saying that Flash is not much popular now (as it used to be).Getting sponsers for flash games is very difficult nowadays.
I think, a large proportion of stencylers too is making iOS and Android games.
So,I wanted to know that is it true that Flash Games' popularity is going down?
I am making Flash Games(but not for profit purposes) but is someone here who is making flash games(or html5 games) aiming to earn money.

Flash has been in decline for ages. Adobe is killing it off sometime in the next couple of years. HTML5 is the way forward.

I can't speak for the industry (and I don't make Flash games for profit), but I'm almost certain it is indeed becoming less popular. 10-15 years ago it was basically the only mature web-supported system for creating video games and other interactive content, but now several other technologies, starting with HTML5, have reached the same level and even surpassed Flash. Given that Adobe themselves have announced that they're dropping Flash support by the end of 2020, listing the growth of HTML5 as one of the main reasons, I think it's pretty clear that the days of Flash are coming to a close, and much of the industry is reacting to that.

HTML5 exporting should be working properly in stencyl 3.5, but I'm not sure when that is being released for everyone.

Flash still has some life left in it, but yeah, it's on its way out. I think 1MrPaul1 is still making and selling Flash games. HTML5 appears to be the future. Of course, there's still mobile and desktop. For better or worse, publishing to sites like Steam seems easier than ever.

Wasn't the big news last year the removal of Greenlight? How did that turn out?

Due to various policy changes on Steam (including Direct), my sales are quite low and several times worse than the peak last year.  New games by default get no trading cards, no coupons (used to be most of my sales), no front page visibility, and the rate increase of games from Direct (about double) certainly doesn't help with sales.

I think getting a game on steam is much more difficult than to upload it to itch.io or any other site(for me at least).
It requires deposit fee ,various documentation and tax information.

Does itch.io require no tax information?

I don't think that it requires any tax info.
Their faq's page:-
https://itch.io/docs/creators/faq
There is full detail on payments and everything else.

But I'm not very sure, because I haven't uploaded a game yet by myself.
