What's next for our iOS exporter? (In-App Purchases and more!)

It won't be time limited, but you will get a limited number of builds per day (have not decided exactly what - I'm going to run it for a while before settling on an exact number) and the builds you get back won't work on the App Store.

It's mainly for developers to trial the functionality to make sure it works for them before buying.

More keyboard shortcuts, like Photoshop for the scene editor

In the tile poligon collision window I would like to see the marked tile behind the collision shape, so I can fit it better for that tile.

I have tiles which are only half of the image and now I can't see, where the collision will occur for that tile. I can only test in trial and error.

You mean like how you can type a single letter, and it switches the tool for you? We used to do that, and I forget what caused me to take it out, but it was a bug of some sort.

I've been using Stencyl for a long time but now that I can publish to iOS I cancelled my subscription to GameSalad and I am going to be a Stencyl Pro user in 2 minutes and counting :)

I see down the road you have Mac App but will you have in app purchases in Mac Applications?

P.S. I told you I would purchase a subscription in less then a minute :D

If IAP's for Mac operate the same way as they do for iOS, I don't anticipate any problems with that.

Very happy to see so many GS people here. The number one reason I made the switch is seeing Jon here on the boards, every day, and responding to queries with builds.

The other number one reason is stability - not breaking my work with each added feature. Is Stencyl agile? I'll bet it is.

The other number ones are iAP, access to code, tool stability, collision boundaries, price, and on and on. I only wish I had my $499 back.

My other only wish: comprehensive, detailed, indexed stencyl documentation.

Great job Stencyl Team!

Yep, exactly + some nice rollover popup information to display the shortcut would be perfect.

I really believe that most of GS users will take this turn and move to iStencyl

I'd have to disagree with you on that point. Gamesalad users are comfortable with it, and (somewhat) know how to use it. Also, it's free. I think some would switch, just because WE ARE STRONGER!

I don't know, I think there's potential for a lot of them to switch. I was there as well and there seems to be a lot discourse on how slow the GS engine runs, how slow load times, how buggy the tool is are and how restrictive the tool is. And the $500 pro license vs the wonderfully priced $150 iStencyl Pro. The only thing they have over Stencyl is Android and HTML5 support which should be remedied soon enough.

IMO HTML5 isn't that big of a deal, it's still not widely supported. Right now it's still much better to have Flash support, and GS does not offer that.

Fully agree with you on Flash vs HTML5. We can still see great sponsorship of flash games (Greg's Making Monkey game is the latest example) if you have that innovative idea.

Back to the subject matter here which is supposed to be IAP, I see a lot of interests on IAP and Joints. Do a lot of folks here plan to use it once they are released? I already see a LOT of interest on joints here. How about IAP itself?

I will use both IAP and joints. Freemium is a very good buisness model these days and is estimated to take a larger market share.

If you look at the top 25 grossing in iTunes almost all have IAP.

That's great. With IAP pending, you can be one of the first few pro members helping out and possibly launching the first istencyl game with IAP.

Joint is also an excellent feature as we can all see in 8bitwit FMZ game.

I'm new here and considering switching from hand coding to building games with an easy to use tool like Stencyl.

Have spent a good part of the Christmas season exploring iStencyl and comparing with GS. Really like what I see so far!

Am looking forward to the HTML5 version of Stencyl.
Hoping it will be real HTML5, where I get access to the code and stand-alone publishing.

It would let me pursue my own opportunities with customers.
It would also give Stencyl a big advantage over GS.
