Downloading Android SDK Results In Error [4.0]

First of all: 4.0!

Onwards: I updated to 4.0, hoping that it might fix my issue from over here: http://community.stencyl.com/index.php/topic,57967.0.html However, when I tried to test the game on Android, it asked to download the Android SDK, and when I accepted, it breaks and does the "Ouch! This should not have happened!" thing.

I have downloaded the Android SDK before, should I uninstall it? And where would it be to be uninstalled?

Can you post your log so I can see what the error was?

Your previous android sdk can be found at [stencylworks]/android-sdk, where [stencylworks] is your workspace folder.

Sure, the logs are attached. I also found this in the log viewer; probably should have checked there earlier:

Unexpected problem on thread AWT-EventQueue-0: null

I also ran the "Uninstall Android SDK Tools" program, and the problem persisted.

I did end up finding the /android-sdk folder at some point on my own, but it dissapeared soon afterwards, before I ran the uninstall program, so that's also sort of weird.

A new public build will come soon. For now, you can fix the error by replacing the sw.jar in the install folder with this one.

Is the install folder the "stencylworks" folder? If it is, I can't find a .jar file called sw.

Thanks Justin. You're great!

No, it's where you installed Stencyl. Like "C:\Program Files (x86)\Stencyl", for example.

Okay, I did that, and I get two errors on compile. The last log in the attached .zip is the one I think is most important. I found these in it:

WARNING: An illegal reflective access operation has occurred
WARNING: Illegal reflective access by org.gradle.internal.reflect.JavaMethod (file:/C:/Users/Play/.gradle/wrapper/dists/gradle-2.10-bin/2v0chm5oshw52qn5d7jjz7lo0/gradle-2.10/lib/gradle-base-services-2.10.jar) to method java.lang.ClassLoader.getPackages()
WARNING: Please consider reporting this to the maintainers of org.gradle.internal.reflect.JavaMethod
WARNING: Use --illegal-access=warn to enable warnings of further illegal reflective access operations
WARNING: All illegal access operations will be denied in a future release

Are these known bugs that are being fixed?

I'm having the exact same issue (same error when trying to install Android SDK so that I can test my game on my android device).

Logs attached.  Thanks in advance Justin! Your helpfulness is really amazing.

Are you getting the error when installing the SDK? Because that's been solved already. I'm having trouble getting Android to compile now.

Yes I'm getting an error when trying to install the SDK. I tried downloading the sw.jar file that Justin linked above, but the link seems to be dead :(

Hmm. I guess we'll just have to wait for the next public build. I assume that it'll come out relatively soon, considering something this big is bugged.

I believe this is indeed fixed in more recent private builds, which will soon be released as a new public build. In the meantime, you should be able to get around this by using JDK 8.

From looking inside your log though, I see another error, which seems to be due to your use of "C:\Program Files (x86)\android-builds" as your android build folder. This doesn't work because you don't have permission to edit files there (unless you run Stencyl as admin). You'll need to change your android build folder to somewhere you have permission to edit without running as admin.
