awhhh you guys
Thanks for the feature Jon and cheers to everyone for digging the game! Dan (armorgames) is great, very fast to reply, almost no paperwork, instant payment and no ridiculous requests such as sponsor logo on gameplay *shudders*, he is also nice guy to talk and work with. The guy who provided the music is also a legend, he did not even want payment (tho he is getting it) and he is really passionate about his music.
You're right the monkeys look like toast... my sister said that in playtesting so i tried to write it into the level text of the game like i meant it haha, i didnt want to draw tails on them as it breaks up the silhouette and the readability of the shapes, i get really OCD about that kinda thing.. im glad some people like the mechanics, i make my games mechanics first kind of thing, like i prototyped the gameplay with crappy art and when it was a fun thing to play with, then from that i spent a long time polishing and making it an experience rather than a 2min demo of launching boxes around.
The gun just duplicates the player actor in front of the gun and applies force. If a monkey hits spikes he gets deleted and an actor "dead monkey" is spawned in his place. If a monkey is near the gun (x/y is similar to x/y of gun) then spacebar designates him "the gun holder" and the gun follows his x/y and rotates toward mouse. Spacebar unattaches the gun from him and applies force, it's as simple as that.
