Sorry guys, only just seen your messages.

With Kai-Os it's been an interesting journey - the figures aren't massive tbh, but the market is still fresh and it's a good time to get in nice and early :)

In some degree, making games for the platform is easier because you don't have much to play with in terms of real estate, performance, IAP purchases and all that jazz, on the other hand, Stencyl doesn't perform that well on the devices, not sure if it's the Haxe layer, but it really doesn't like physics, actors being created or scene changes, so you're kinda forced to keep the game simple.

Setting up the dev environment was a nightmare tbh, but once it's set up, if you don't touch it, it's fine.

I'm focusing on another game for now, but once I'm done with it, I will return to Kai-os because it is fun building quick, simple games and as I say, their market is growing so it's good to get in on a new paltform :) Feel free to ping me questions or whatnot if you want to know more or specifics.

Hi zerosimms, do you know where we can see any info about click rates/income for Kaiads? I've looked all over, but the money side of things isn't easy to find! I've even signed up for a Kia os ads account, but still can't see any info. There doesn't seem to be any mention of linking to a bank account or other way of getting paid for ads.

Hey DesignPeg, I had a call with one of the reps there at Kia-os and she said the split was 30 - 30 - 40 split.
30%  go to them, 30% to you and 40% to the phone manufacturer, I don't think that reflects in your kia-ad's report, what you see in there is what you get AFAIK.

You have to earn $500  before they payout, which seems high in comparisons to Google's $60, but there you go :)

In terms of clicks and other stats ping me on Twitter (zerosimms) :)

Hi, thanks, much appreciated info. I've ordered a bright yellow Nokia 8110! which looks like a fun phone. Kia Os homepage says there are only 431 apps in the app store - this seems like a really good opportunity to get in early ona new platform, and the challenge to make a fun, small game with lots of restrictions will be a fun one.

Just tested KAIOS . I was wondering,  the usual 320*480 game seems too big  by default for the kaios screen  ( I'm just using a kaios simulator). How are you able to scale the screen size so everything appears ?

Yoplalala - you need to set the screen resolution to 240x320.

Tbh, I didn't try and fit any of my existing game, I built new games with the resolution in mind

In fact you can change scale in the view port. But as it doesn't have the same width to height ration so  I think it's easier to adapt the game to 240x320.
Were you able to override the clear key on the kai phone ? I tried to bind it to backspace. But it still minimizes the app when click on it.

BTW, what games did you publish ? :)

I didn't try and override the keys to be honest, just mapped the numbers keys.

I've a few games on there now:
Rogue Mage
UFO <- not very good tbh
Boom Boom Fishing
Clay Shot
And soon Tree Dodge
