- The controls feel a lil' sluggish.
Given that you're playing as a dwarf, the controls should feel a little sluggish.  He is short and fat afterall, and he's no Mario.  It's a wonder he can jump as high as he can in the game's current state!  However, there may be some sort of magical footwear that could alleviate this poor dwarf's problem..  :D

- The interaction with the chests was kinda finicky.
I couldn't agree more, and this somehow managed to escape from ending up on my todo list.  I tweaked it a bit, and hopefully it should be much easier to interact with now.

Fair enough on the sluggish thing, you're right in that it does make sense for the character :)

I'm very close to having v0.0.3 ready.  Most of the heavy coding work for what was in my TODO list is done.  If all goes well, it should be up tonight or sometime tomorrow.  At that point it will be quite easy for me to work on extending the game's length and making it into less of just a tech demo and into an actual game demo.

I've been sick lately, so I haven't been working nearly as much on this, and thus my proposed update is on temporary hold.  My current plans are to get the update finished soon, as I intended.  However, I'm going to hold off on frequent updates after that as I work towards a demo that I can consider finished for the time.  After that, work on the full game will begin shortly thereafter.

I had already finished giving both the player and the enemy the ability to fight, however, I think it needs some major rebalancing.  I'm trying various things out, and other than being sick, this has been a large part of what I've been working on, though it really wasn't intended for the next update.  I might clean it up for the update and just release it as-is if I can't figure out something soon.

I'm looking forward to hearing what everyone thinks.  What I have in front of me feels much more like an actual playable game than what's uploaded currently, so I'm itching to get this update done.  Combat just seems unfair at the moment so I've spent most of my time trying to balance it out.

Just to let everyone know, I finally got v0.0.3 done and it's uploaded on the game center here.  I'm going to take a break from it for a few days and then when I get back I'm going to get to work drafting out new ideas to further flesh out the game.  Hope you enjoy the update!

Also, unless anyone objects, I think this topic is ready to be moved to "Announce Your Game!".

I really did intend to take a break for a couple days.. however at least a couple friends have said they wanted to keep playing once the demo was over.  I must admit, it is extremely short, so now I'm working to fix this, along with one or two minor but new things.

I think attacking enemies is really hard. Your attack range is reaaally small and I ended up dying twice, the second time I was sure I was close enough to hit the guy but I didn't.

Also, I moved this to Announce Your Game.

This is actually something I'm already working to fix, but I'm glad to actually hear someone say something about it.  I was worried it was just me nitpicking.

And thanks for moving the topic! :D

You shouldn't be afraid that you're nitpicking. If there's something you don't like about your game, you can assume that there are others that might not like it. I think that will ultimately lead to the best game.

Very nice graphics, hoping to see more soon. Only hope is that you fix the attack range issue, as you said. And the movement speed feels a bit slow, but that could just be me.
