Apocalypse Ninja - First Stencyl Project

Hi Stencyl community, just announcing our first Stencyl project Apocalypse Ninja. We have recently moved our project from Game Maker to Stencyl and apart from concept have restarted from the ground up!

So what is the game? Originally it was to be an endless jump game but from a top down perspective with a futuristic cyber ninja out running a vortex. The jump style didnt quiet suit what we wanted to do so we're working on a vertical top down runner instead with gap jumps, obstacles, traps and enemies (Maybe some cool set piece bosses too, but don't want to get too ahead of ourselves).

Apart from that we haven't got a huge amount more to share because we've only just begun to set up the game in Stencyl. Though we will use this thread to keep you guys updated with info and screenshots.

Feel free to say hi and a chat with us about anything we share!

Thought i'd share some handy collaboration tools that we use:

MSN - Good to talk about your project on the fly.
Drop Box - Excellent common area to share files and store assets.
Wunderlist - Iphone and android app that lets you task list things to do.

Feel free to mention any other tools that help you guys out!

Nice art! I'm looking forward to seeing where this one goes!

Hey Stecnylers, quick update.

Most of the graphics are ready for the first level of Apoc Ninja, where just getting them in place and making sure it all works the way it should.
I've started doing graphics for later further levels which is going quiet well.... though it's always a matter of see how it goes when its in game.

I popped a little preview of one of the more detailed sprites here that i'd done this morning:

Anyone got any thoughts on particles??? Need to get some flashy effects in to scorch the retinas!

Particle system support is supposed to come out in sw 2.x.

Hey thanks for the link Rob we'll check it out!!!

Quick update! Our coder has just had his first child recently and as you can imagine finding time to work on projects outside of work and family can be tough. Work is still on for Apoc Ninja (though slow).
Side announcement! The non coders of the team are taking time to try to get the feel of making things work in stencyl and are trying (not too successfully) to port our zombie shooter into stencyl! Hopefully we can give you guys something to look at soon!

Thanks  :D

Hey all Luke here, the creator and artist of Apoc Ninja. Unfortunately this project has ground to a halt. I seem to keep getting hit by the coder drops out around the end of the first level complete curse.

Is this the end of apocalypse ninja? I'm not quiet ready for that.

So I'm looking at ressing this project and am considering making this a casual project. If anyone is interested just reply for details.

I have a WIP version, is it acceptable to upload these builds or I can work out a way to host an .swf for anyone competent stencyllers who may consider having a go.  :D

check out the WIP here:

http://www.stencyl.com/game/play/14807

CONTROLS : Left/right arrows
                   Mouse click to jump

Still a bit rough around the edges but demos the core concept of this top down action runner.

Features not yet in use include - boost type platforms
                                             - Traps (flame/electric/spike etc)
                                             - Enemies

If anyone wants to help necro this project post here or pm me. I really don't want these graphics assets go to waste!! Check out the WIP demo and let me know what you think!!

Cheers
