Want to enable iOS exporting in 2.0?

Copy the ios/ folder inside this ZIP file to [STENCYL_INSTALL_FOLDER]/plaf/

The Patch

You installed the patch, right? (First post in the topic)
My fault. I thought I needed the patch only to export (publish) the game. Now it works, but I still have these issues:

* I can't access to PRO features although I am a PRO subscriber

* If I add a 960*640 retina background, in my atlas I only see a 480*320 copy of such background

Any hint?

Just checked out the latest build. It had tons of new behaviors, so they are there. They were awesome by the way.

Will the team keep adding behaviors to this library, or is this is it?

Thanks captain.

@osterzone @ wishy,

First double check with the stencyl sample game:

1. Open Alien Approach
2. Open Level 1
3. Select Behavior Tab
4. You see " Click here to choose a behavior ..."
5. Click it
6. Do you see a bunch of behavior under From Your Library. There should be around 9 of them.

Do the same thing for Actor and try Add behavior and look at "From your Library"

Ok, there was behaviors in the Actor's "from your library" part, but I tried the same thing for the scene behaviors, and got the same thing as my screen-shot showed. I do think that I'd be able to make some better games with what I do have though.

Can you go to home folder and look for stencylworks folder and navigate down to:

stencylworks/behavior/Utilities/Scene folder and

list out what you see?

There should be a bunch of files.

I've been talking about it with other team members, and I'd definitely like to do more. We actually had a list so I reckon we'll probably try and cross everything off there that we didn't do before and then move on to other stuff. Now that we've got this "boring" stuff out of the way (as in it's largely there just because it's useful, not because it's particularly amazing) I think we could start moving more towards standardising or creating a whole lot of "pro level" behaviours. Just my thoughts though, hopefully you should see more coming as Stencyl advances :)

- The "Pro" features you speak of are separate from the iOS Pro option and are part of the new "Stencyl Pro" package which was previously called our splash-removal option but recently got upgraded to include EXE/APP export and custom preloaders. However, as you are press, I will set that up for you once 2.0 becomes official.

- There are two copies of all graphics, a 1x copy which will be half the size of retina, and the 2x copies, which are what you originally imported.

That new package will be launched with the release of 2.0 official? Couse this is the first time I read something about that.

Oooh! I'm excited! I can't wait until next week!
Going to be awesome when 2.0 is officially out!

My silly question for the day.  What is different about an official release that isn't in the nightly version now?

Thanks

Tom

As far as I know there isn't that much of a difference. We've got most things in there and are just tidying up some loose ends (like some stuff with the pre-shipped behaviours). It's probably more that we'll be promoting it as the official Stencyl rather than just as a Beta copy that people can use if they want to.

Yes, from what I know, they are coordinating the official launch of 2.0 with things like Stencylpedia 2.0. I also think they are trying to build up a bit of hype with all this demoing and blog posting. On the technical side of things, it sounds like they are having a problem setting up an installer thingy. So it seems to be that everything is changing besides the actual software.

On a different note- I am quite pleased with the production rate of stencyl. I've been with it since beta, and have never failed to be excited by a new update. I also use scratch and have noticed that scratch and stencyl are both on version 1.4 (although stencyl is 1.4.1, but close enough, right), but stencyl is much younger and has many, many, more features. Stencyl is quite a success I'd say.  :)

I first mentioned it back in February. We'll dedicate a blog post to it and add it to the store later this week. If you actually attempt to publish a standalone game, you'll get a peek at what that will look like.

Beyond that, there are apparently a lot and lot of people waiting for our green light to begin using it. It's all hidden under the surface and nothing anybody would guess just by surfing the forums, but it's all there. ;)

If I download the beta now, will it mean that when 2.0 comes out I manually have to download the new installer? Or can I update from within the program? (ex. 1.3 - 1.4) Thanks for helping!

You'll want to download a new installer.
