UPDATE NOTES
- New art design by Raquel Ganadin

- Several new music tracks by Kung Fu Furby

- Several new stages complete with new enemy types

- New dialogue system in place, small intro

- Pseudo quest system. Conditional dialogue, conditional doors

- Fixed game breaking checkpoint load bug

- can no longer "continue game" unless save file already exists

UPDATE NOTES
-Entire game is controlled via keyboard, no mouse needed

-Menu's are controlled via keyboard now as opposed to button presses

-Added a boss and "End" of the demo, though it never really ends, you can keep re-fighting the
boss of you so desire (To earn BP maybe?)

-Save points don't automatically restore your health

-Save points now have a menu that pops up where you can either save your game or heal for a BP cost. The more wounded you are the more expensive.

-Enemies drop health randomly

-Game over screen when you die to either reload or go back to start menu

-You can now shoot down

- Added a new level

UPDATE NOTES

-Added 2 new levels
-Added 2 new enemies: The Waspinator and it's hive
-Added a boss of sorts(still working on enemy AI)
-Made the hub an actual hub, all levels accesible from the one map
-Added a menu to check your weapon status, currently mapped to the ESC key
-You can use your blips(BP) to upgrade your weapon stats in the shop(BP cost needs a little tweaking)

I've been working on the project on and off since the release of Stencyl, at first it was just a proof of concept, but every day I get more and more attached to it I think I'm just gonna make a full game out of it.

Known Bugs

- Blips when dropped sometimes fall through the floor

- Blue Slime enemies are pushable

-Need to get looking up/shooting up working, having some trouble with that.

-I haven't implemented it yet, but almost every stat is already variable allowing for future upgrades to weapon(distance, delay between shots, power), health, speed, jump height, defense,

-You can't do anything with the pickups yet, but rest assured I've got a lot planned for those.

- I've done a lot of bug testing but I'm sure there's still tons in there, please give me your feedback.


Tiles used are mostly from stencyl forge (for now) main character sprite is a modified version of a sprite by http://digibody.deviantart.com/

I am looking for a few people to help playtest the game. It's getting to the point now that I alone can only catch so much. Fun game intro had me sold.  Story caught my interest pretty quick, cant wait to see how it all pans out.

I've been working on the game a little less lately. Mainly on account of the impending release of Stencyl 2.0.

I've transitioned over to the 2.0 platform and have hit a few speedbumps, had to rewrite some code and fix some things, but overall I've made the whole game a lot more efficient so hurray there!

Some things that will be present in the next release:

- A real boss (Own seperate room, health bar, etc...)
- Weapon switching menu with variable weapon stats 2 weapons so far)
- Droppable health recovery items from enemies
- A GAME OVER SCREEN :O (complete with a game over jingle)
- New main character sprite
- New introduction
- Many bug fixes and tweaks here and there

I'm giving myself 2 weeks to roll this out. So by March 15th there will be a new version up here and I'll update the main post with update notes. I'm probably missing some things that I'll be adding, so we'll see when the 15th comes along.

Anything you guys want to see specifically? I'll try and add it if I can. Let me know!!

I'm happy to hear that you enjoyed the demo. Did you see the most recent one? It was vastly improved over the original "Cave Story-ish".

I'm really happy with 2.0 and I really am excited to see where this platform goes. It is honestly one of the best I have ever used.

And playing the game results in a bust. That "temporary enhancement in effect" track isn't mine (I detected it when I got the double shot temporary enhancement). ;D I think it comes from a Game Boy or NES game... sadly, I don't have a specific source.

Ah well, I can always make one.

OH WOW!

You're totally right! It's actually from Link's Awakening for the GB/GBC. To be honest I had forgotten that I put that in there as a placeholder, oops!

I would be more than happy to change that in a moment's notice, you're still my favourite Furby! lol

Other than the track that I detected, the save point at the Surface of Medius (I have to blast a wall to reach it) does not function while the temporary power-up is in effect. Maybe there should be an indicator that the save point is temporarily disabled while a temporary power-up is in effect... I'm not sure if I missed that in the instructions as I was going along, though.

Thanks for the kind words everyone!

I've got a big update brewing! I don't want to spoil too much, but I'm toying with the idea of adding an XP system + BP(money). XP being the currency to upgrade your stats and BP to purchase accessories for stat modification (everything from raw stats to % of health drop, XP earned, etc...) This should add a lot of depth to the game and give a sense of customization.

I'm HOPING to roll out this update by the end of October, I'll keep you all posted!

I saw! Hopefully first of many?(wishful thinking :p)

Trust me guys, I work on this game almost every single day, so I will always be posting. Plus if you want to have any sort of input on what this game becomes I will probably most receptive on Twitter since I can access that at work and not Stencyl (stupid proxy).

I'm also thinking of setting up a forum, though this is working fine for now :)
