Looks like an actor issue, even being absolutely blank causes the error. Runs fine when I delete it.

You mean the game has simply an actor and an empty scene? No behaviors at all? What do you mean by "blank actor"?

Post the game, please, so we can investigate further.

Add an animation to the actor and the game will run. You don't even need to add an image, just click the "Click here to add an animation" button in the center of the screen. A default animation will be created.

If that is the cause, we ought to make it still work with the de-generated, animation-less actor, even though it's bad practice. I'd say, if an actor has no animations, we don't let it exist at all.
