Hi, Everyone, my name is Steve

I'm not exactly new here, I was previously registered under the username SUNCHIRP, but moving away from username as I start to develop with Stencyl, ' new year, new me ' sort of thing ! :)

Would just like to say, in the time I have been here I've found this to be wonderful, friendly, creative forum and it's a pleasure to be part of this community.  I am currently working on ( what I think is ) a simple physics game, which in turn was being developed on another platform, but felt let down with that platform, and I was very impressed when I found Stencyl, so I decided to ' jump ship ' as it were, now I'm looking forward to making lots of games in the future, and maybe hoping some of them might be successful ! :)

Nice to meet you all.

Regards.

Hi, I'm Camilla. :) I've worked as a game designer for over 6 years now, and it's about time I'm able to make my own games! (I feel so useless.) I've just started making a prototype in Stencyl, it's so amazing.

I really enjoy casual and puzzle games (Meteos on the DS is a favorite, as well as the Picross series, Warioware, Pokemon), RPGs and games with really cool stories (Secret of Mana, Terranigma, Dragon Age1+2, Harvest Moon series). My most favoritest game ever in the whole world is probably Ico.

Nice to meet you Camilla!  Picross is one of my favorite puzzle games as well. =) I just finished all of the Picross levels on an iPhone app version I found 2 days ago, so much fun.

I'm in the same boat as you, mainly just a Game Designer and Stencyl is definitely helping me make my own games. Any of the games I've designed previously have never made it into an actual game though.  Sounds like you have had some of your designs make it though. =)

Hello, my name is puppetadventurer (well, not really) and I've only made one Stencyl game so far (and it's not done yet), but I'm going to make another one soon  :P

 Hello there!

My intent is to make games easier and greater alike.

And am eager to bind together my efforts to make some great games, learn to make great games on my own and enjoy community.

Hi Stencyl Community!

We are Dead Moose Studios from Brisbane, Australia and consist of:

Aaron - Programming (Zombie Invaders)
Scott - Sound, QA (Zombie Invaders)
Luke - Art  (Zombie Invaders, Apocalypse Ninja - Stencyl)
Nathan - Programming (Apocalypse Ninja - Stencyl)

Basically we are all gamers who have always wanted to make games but always needed the otherside of the equation. We have artists who can't code and coders who arent so good at art :), so through friends and colleagues we were able to come together and work on a couple of projects. Our first project is Zombie Invaders and is being developed for the iphone with flash builder and the second is Apocalypse Ninja which we have just moved across from Game Maker to Stencyl.

EDIT: Our official Apocalypse Ninja thread can be found here:

http://community.stencyl.com/index.php/topic,6596.0.html

So thats about it so far, hopefully all goes to plan and we can make a cool game with Stencyl and get to check out the community, thanks!

Do you have any older games from before you can show? How did you hear about us?

Note that we also offer istencyl that can let you convert your flash games to mobile in a faster manner.

Its Luke the art guy posting atm, previously i've helped out some people with spriting on the game maker community, only one of which actaully went live to play, you can have a look at it here:

http://sandbox.yoyogames.com/games/184454-judgement-anniversary-edition-with-commentary

It was quiet challenging because i wasn't used to working with such small sprites but a good experience non the less. My moto is that my job is 'to make things look pretty' :) because i'm very limited in making them work :( I've done all sorts of art things throughout my life including tattoo designs, comic/manga art, game art, paintings, all sorts of things and usually working on a couple of different things at a time.

We also have a few development videos up of Zombie Invaders on its facebook page here:

http://www.facebook.com/ZombieInvadersGame

I am doing the art for zombie invaders and Nathan coded the work in the earlier vids.
Nathan has previously made games through his university courses as well.

Nathan came across Stencyl and sent me a link across MSN, it seems like a much better game maker than Game Maker for what we want to do (and has so far proven so). We have been able to put things together faster and easier and i've also been able to check the game out via an SWF player app on my android phone. Once we're confident in the direction our game is heading we'll probably upgrade to istencyl, after all we need that sweet, sweet retina display quality :)

Thanks for you update. I'll be following the progress on you team. It's quite interesting to see a relatively large team working on multiple projects. Should be a lot of fun. Good luck with your games.
