Hi all,
don't know if I'm the oldest Stencyler at 55 years of age but would be impressed to hear from anyone more senior. I am a paramedic in  Australia. Love my job but its important to have an engaging hobby. I cannot remember (dementia?) how I happened to come across Stencyl but as I have always enjoyed varied video games and technology it looked like it was worth a try. Three years later I've virtually completed my first game and just paid my studio license for use of Stencyl. I have absolutely no background in coding so I'm very pleased with what Stencyl has allowed me to do.

Working with Xcode, provisioning profiles and all the bits needed to publish is becoming a pain in the butt. No fun at all. Having come this far the prospect of giving up is repugnant. So...I'll be asking questions of the forum in the days to come. Any help is appreciated.

Games I've played over the years...first ever computer game was a linear graphic based upon gridiron in which a ball shaped element bounced back and forth on a horizontal line, the mechanics of the ball's movement referenced against some kind of randomizer that was affected by play decisions such as whether to punt, pass, defend etc. The computer was owned by the high school I attended (circa 1977) and the manufacturer's name was "Wang". Yep...I played with a Wang. It was rectangular mainframe about 1.5 metres square and 2 metres high, sitting snugly inside a heavy metal cabinet. At the time it was used to teach Basic language.

Most favourite games since have included Crash Bandicoot, Pandimonium, Metal Gear Solid, Tombraider, Need for Speed, Ratchet and Clank, Halo, Fallout, Gears of War, Skyrim, Dishouroured etc.

Enough rambling. Get an old person started and they don't want to stop,

Cheers owee

hey there,
Not a newbie, but just thought to write here :) ,
Anthony Davis,
At some sites, this name was already in place, so I just added "greatanthony" , which is used in my profiles everywhere,
So not "great" I'm , it's just to keep the name same where ever I have Profiles! :)

Just completed my high schools, and presently on the journey of learning programming

Hey there! You can call me Sirenita :P
I'm new here and I'm eager to learn! I always had a passion for games, especially board games, and one day a strange idea got into my mind. Since I love games so much, why not try to make one? And Stencyl came up in my first research.  So, here I am, ready to start 'exploring'.

hi everyone, Im beppe.

Hey everyone.
I'm James, but I tend to go by Anima on the interwebs.
I've been using Stencyl on and off since 2015 after being introduced to it at university as part of my games design course.
As the course's focus shifts more and more towards 3D Asset Creation and 3D Game Engines, I'm a little if its right for me as I've always enjoyed indie and flash games and the idea of creating smaller games by myself appeals to me much more than being a small part of making a much larger game.
As such I'm taking a break from my studies to focus on game development on my own; I'm going to see if making games as a solo indie developer is viable for me and re-asses my studies afterwards.

I'm hoping to have my first ever commercial game finished by the end of 2017 and I'm hoping being more active in the Stencyl community will give the motivation and guidance to make that happen, so watch this space.

See you all around the forums. :)

Hi, my name is -CML- Divisionary, and I come from Wellington, New Zealand. Basically I'm at an Institute of Technology (a Community College)  studying IT basics, and one of my courses includes a large Portion of Stencyl.

I'd say Kongregate was my main game site for ages. Back in the day, and my first kinda hyped up Flash game that I played and really stuck on to was 'Platform Racing', on GameFudge. That ofcourse turned into PR2 on Kong, and really exploded into life about 6 -7 years ago, maybe more.

First game was at 5 years old, got Age of Empires 1, out of a Nutri-grain box, and Age of Empires 2 at 6 years old has been my all time favourite game. At the moment I enjoy the challenge of the Solo Rust Wipes on Rustafied AU Main, but about a year ago I joined the biggest and most positive clan in Rust, CML. I've learnt a lot about many different ways to communicate ones ideas on the internet. Was part of a Mount'n'Blade Community called MOV from about 17-19ish yrs old, ended on not the best terms, but was a great eye opener. Thanks for not letting me return mate, helped me move forward, and find my own way (finally understood what you meant). At the moment I enjoy a bit of the casual Discords, meeting many different types of people from all over, and kinda staying away from the more toxicities on the net. Mainly just talking to people at about the differences in experiences you have inside communities when you get good at making positive decisions, while also being able to laugh and learn from your mistakes.

I enjoy long and in-depth conversations about many different things, a lot of a voice comms person, less text chat. Played a bit of Gmod SWRP for the first time 8 months ago, joined up, met a large mainly Aussie community, eventually became a regiment leader, and a Server Moderator. I had a good run of that, still keep in touch, have since left those positions as it is natural for the server to turn over players. Moving forward from it, I signed up with a Volunteer group as my Institute, and have kinda taken a little bit of a backseat on gaming recently. Worlds are looking pretty good so far, C9 and FNC doing really well against the other 3rd seed teams. I start the Monkey game today, and plan to use the Knowledge I will gain to one day create Mods for the certain games I consider classic.

To be honest, I don't really know how much I will use these forums, but if you ever decide to get into Rust, hit me up.
(Not trying to Recruit or advertise, just got a small group of friends going some wipes, and we like bring new well mannered people in sometimes.)
Steam: -CML- Divisionary
Fav Song atm: Airglow by Lazlo
Fav Book: The Magician

Yea, basically just carry on what your doing, one of my first tasks is to actually come on here and do an Intro, but yah know, I write too much. Talking and Eating are Hobbies, and I can do them for several Hours at a Time.

Hello,
I'm Emanuele from Italy.
I started develop with stencyl in eraly 2012.
My hobbies are playing videogames (who doesn't here?), listen music, play guitar, bongo, bass...
I start developing in 2011 in my school with Vb 6.0 language, so I had some programming background skill that allowed me to develop some little little game with stencyl, but only when I got a job as a web developer in 2016, I had the luck to working with some important people and this illuminated me and my programming skills increased. Now when I programming in Stencyl, I think at things that I never though few years ago.
There's more to learn and I'm still not a master programmer, but this is quite satisfying to me.
I know I never work very seriously atm on Stencyl (I developed and published around 6 games, but no one had some kind of success), but finally I'm working on a small-medium project that is quite cute for me and, hope, for others.
I started much small-medium projects last year but I always abandoned, for time primaly.
Hope the best for my current project, and hope I'm enough strong to continue working on.
Such annoying presentation, huh? :)
Cheers

I am NickamonPoppytail, also known as Nicholas J. Hackett. I am an Australian author and now thanks to Stencyl a game maker. I am currently working on Poppytail games and an RPG about Poppytail, called The Poppytales (see links below). I started using Stencyl around late April this year, and now I just realised it's almost been six months. My book is called The World of Elecreatures and at the moment is not in book stores. :(
When the first Poppytail game comes out, you'll also see I am obsessed with papillons. I have four of them at home, and a lot of characters from my book and games are based on them.
Anyway, thank you for reading this wall of text!

Fica aqui a minha sugestão.

Hello everyone.
I'm Brazilian, I love games and I just met Stencyl. I found it very interesting to create games without knowing programming.
I searched for a forum section that was in my native language, Brazilian Portuguese (PT-BR), but I did not find it.
I'm sure a category in other languages would be very useful on the forum. Here is my suggestion.
