hi!!! im not really new here, but i havent introduced myself yet i guess?

im a 14 year old Christian developer. ive been into game development sence i was 12 i think. game development is my passion, but my greatest passion is for Christ. when i was 12, i came up with tons of ideas for awesome games, so i wanted to make them because they were to good to dismiss.

i found out about you guys, when talking to my friend about game development, he told me that Geek Squad Summer Acadamy taught about that, i went there and tried it out. when it came time to make the games, the introduced me to Stencyl and i fell in love with it simplicity and power. ive been using it ever sence!

other programs i use
Visual Basic (my first program i used. i did okay in it, but it really wasnt what i was loking for. ie used it for about a year, but now that i have Stencyl, i dont use it much.)
Visual C# (Didnt like it, wasnt really very good for making games. used it for 3 months and havnt used it sence.)
Unity 3D (got it a week ago, i really like the design and Terrain making. i dont know how to do much but im going to keep working hard and learn how to do it!)

Thankyou Stencyl for making it so simple to make amazing games. im going to keep trying hard to what i love.

Its strange to think that I never introduced myself here.

My 'online nickname' has been Letmethink for as long as I can remember. I have used Stencyl for a while but currently only published one game. It has a few play, probably aroud 5k or so. I used to very often 'burnout' but now I have got myself under control.

I am 13 years of age and I live in the UK near London and game design and creation is my main passion. I am one of the top pupils in the country of my age and chances are I probably won't do this for a living when I am older; I have bigger things in mind for that. However, while I still can I will make games and enjoy it.

While I am at heart a programmer, I never bothered to learn as3 or as2, but I haven't had the need to with Stencyl.

So... Hey I'm Letmethink (always with only one capital, not LetMeThink, that looks horrible).

Hello! I'm new here, and I thought I'd come and introduce myself.

So...I'm a girl, and I like to make games/code. I also really, REALLY love the show My little Pony:Friendship Is Magic, and I really would like to make a game based off of it. I find Stencyl really nice, and easy to use. A lot of people say it isn't very powerful, but I disagree.

That's all there is to know!

Hi Folks,

My name is Nathan, I'm a 31 year old guy working in Real Estate.  I have zero programming experience, but I've always loved games, starting with playing NES and Atari games at a friend's house when I was young.  About four years ago I had a job which was incredibly easy and left me with a lot of free time, so I often passed the day with Kongregate to quell my boredom.  This was my introduction to indie games, and it is what got me interested in the possibility of making my own game someday.  While I don't have an easy job with endless free time anymore, I'm looking forward to finally getting started on this hobby that I've always been interested in.

welcome Nathen! Honestly, with Stencyl, you could be Amish (but just stoped being Amish[ you know what i mean ])and make a game! its probably simplest program there is, and yet it still has amazing power! you chose a great program to start making games with!

and you said that you dont have much time anymore. with Stencyl you dont need to spend hours of non-stop work for months to finally make a game. spend mabey a hour a day or less for a a couple weeks and you'll have a amazing game. Stencyl makes making games so much easier and faster than any other program ive used.

GOOD LUCK!!! HOPE YOU ENJOY STENCYL!!!

Hi all,
what a big live community, fantastic!

My name is Miguel Santos and I've been playing around with AGS most of the time, developing adventure point&click games.
I've found Stencyl some years ago but only now I gathered myself the strength to learn new engines.
I'm currently developing the same game in Stencyl and Tululloo.
I'm 37 years old and glad to be here!

Hi all.

My name is Nelson Santos (no relation to Miguel above).  I am a professional programmer/software developer by trade with a passion for game development as well.  I've recently learned that Stencyl has been around for quite some time and I'm surprised that I only just learned of its existence a couple of weeks ago.  I was immediately intrigued.  I briefly read about it on the website and on the same day I decided to purchase the Studio subscription as well as the Learning Stencyl 3.x Game Development book to get me up to speed on how to use the software.  Finished the book in 3 to 4 days and now I'm well into the development of a mobile game.

I have to say I'm impressed with Stencyl.  It's a little rough around some edges but all in all I like it and I expect I'll be using it as part of my regular toolset as a software developer.

Welcome, and thanks for buying the book. Did you find it useful?

What type of mobile game are you developing?

Best regards,
Innes

Hi Innes.

Yes, actually I found the book to be invaluable in bringing me up to speed on how to use Stencyl.  I was almost immediately comfortable with Stencyl after reading the book.  It taught me the core concepts and I was able to fly from there.  I may have been able to pick up the software a bit more easily than others who are just starting as I've already got some game development background and experience, so I was really just looking for a "manual" of sorts and your book hit the spot and then some.

I am working on a rhythm based game now but have future plans for puzzle, platformer and board games as well as other types beyond that.

Thank you!

My name's Christian. I don't ever have much time to work on Stencyl because of school and other projects but I think it's a fun way to spend time. Just figuring out how it works. I don't work on games though, I start one but it turns into a test to see what works and what doesn't. Oh well... And my username is my YouTube name, too. It's one of my biggest projects.

Hello, I'm fruitvark.  I've been developing games for a few years now with much less elegant tools, and I'm looking forward to Stencyl's intuitive design process!

My favorite game is the first Legend of Zelda for the NES/Famicom.  My favorite game series is the Metal Gear series.  I most love non-linear game environments that let the player express his creativity.

I'm interested in making retro-inspired games for sale on mobile apps.

Looking forward to it!
