Hi everybody! モモです!

My name is Momo, and I am from Hokkaido, Japan. I spend most of my time working with momongas, but I am also an aspiring game developer! I've loved playing video games ever since I got my first opportunity to do so, when I was really small. Flying squirrels tend to naturally be good musicians and halfway-decent artists, and they love solving puzzles... so I figured game design would be a perfect fit for me!

One of my friends wanted me to make a game about otters, so my first game is called Otterquest! As you may be able to tell from the title, it is a game about otters. Well, mostly one otter, who believes herself to be the sole heir to the greatest hoard of treasure in the galaxy.

Right now, I am  focusing on completing various tutorials and looking at demo games before jumping in to anything more serious, so it might be a while before I have any updates on my game. However, I will be uploading all my concept art to DeviantART (and if you would like to visit me there, the link is in my profile!)

I hope my games bring the joy of momonga to people around the world. My dream is to someday be able to sell my games to support my friends and family. It is wonderful to meet all of you! You will achieve your dreams if you never give up!

Hello, my username is FlammusLucis (Which is Latin for flame of light) I have been programming and doing pixel art for a coupe of years now. My friends and I are planning on starting a programming group called Square Squid Games.

I usually enjoy playing games after they are a couple years old, for two reasons. One: the price goes way down, (I got Skyrim for 5 dollars, plus 5 extra for the dawngaurd expansion.) and two: there are way more reviews to see if the game is really worth it. Some of my favorites are Half life 2, Portal 2, and Skyrim.

Hi everyone just introducing to the forum. Interested in casual games and Android games in particular, have to find the older games made with Stencyl and update them at some point, made a couple of Flash ones in the past. Hi to you all :)

Hi,

My name  is Alex, i am an ex-banker turned programmer. However, i gre up loving games like Mario,Tetris, Solitaire......until work exigencies overwhelmed me ;D. Now i am back and asides learning Stencyl for fun, i also want to create games that would reach places i have never been to.....thanks to the Internet.

I came to know Stencyl through a review i read online on the best free apps for creating games and since i read the review i just took so much interest in it. Today is my first time in here.....and i plan to stay......forever(If possible  8)

Hello!

My name's Karmic, and I've been hanging around in the Stencyl chat for a few weeks now while learning how to really use the engine. I'm not usually one for forums, but I figured that maybe if I posted, it'd attract more newcomers like myself into trying the tool/hanging in the chat.

This is my first real foray into seriously attempting to use a tool like Stencyl, as most of my experience comes from programming for Java, and C++ in the past (Along with ye olde HTML). Most of my original programming attempts never got very far unfortunately, but I'm hoping to change that with Stencyl.

With that said, I've also begun studying a good amount of C# (Nothing to show for that yet), and I'm aspiring to finish up a few small games so I can begin to compete in the various ludum dare type contests that go up from time to time within the next month or two.

But I digress, I'm a pretty old guy and I tend to do that. I'm not a big fan of most triple A games of the current generation, but I'm not so blinded by nostalgia to not see the appeal and shine in current games, especially with the younger generation. I like to imagine I've got a pretty up-beat attitude on development, and I strongly believe in quality over quantity when it comes to game design. You won't see me posting anything till I've had time to put a good spit-shine on it and give it a once over.

Anyhow, hope to see you all around. Ah, one last thing : I primarily speak English. There are a few other languages I'm barely fluent in, but if you do happen to pop into the chat but don't speak English, well, I'll do my best to help you regardless.

Hi Everyone,

Just checking in to say hi and also thanks to the folks in the forums - I've learned quite a lot just lurking for the past few weeks. I've been able to put together a silly game, but it's pretty memory intensive, and probably more of a PC game than a flash game. Anyway, IE seems to work best to play it. I'm still not sure about actually posting it to the arcade, since it'll only ever be a "work-in-progress" - it was my starter project to see how things work in Stencyl (and making games in general).

Thanks again!
I have no idea what I'm doing.

LD games can be a great way to learn--both from others and from just concentrating on LD for a couple of days. I've probably learned more from going through that process than any other single event.

Pretty neat starter game. :) I got 'instakill' a lot on Level 3. Still haven't beaten it. Works fine on Chrome. IE is not an option for me, so I can't compare.

Thanks for the Chrome info, @merrak. Still trying to figure it all out, including performance issues. Much research yet to do...
