Hi! My name is Yoshi Endo. I just recently started using Stencyl, and I'm still trying to learn the program. Hopefully I'll have something presentable soon.

Welcome to both of you :)
Don't look to me but rather to the One who is the reason for what I do. :)

If you need help, send me a PM. Even if I haven't been on in the forums in ages, I still receive those messages via email notifications. You can also reply to any of my forum posts, regardless of the age (especially if I created it), and I will likely reply.

If you want to see the programming behind certain types of games, feel free to check out my "Demo-" games on StencylForge (http://community.stencyl.com/index.php/topic,16160.0.html)

Hello World. I'm a recently unemployed man wanting to work at what I love most, games. I'm going to let my passion overcome my current inabilities with help from Stencyl and the community. I'm thrilled to finally start this path, and hopefully I'll make some ace games, and have great experiences, while I'm at it.

Have fun!

Welcome Cyrax. My advice is to start small. You can always build up ;). There are some great resources in the Stencylpedia, as well as SunriseKingdom's video tutorials, Abigayl's tutorials (on Kongregate and here), and even my own "Demo-" games on StencylForge. :)

Greetings! Mike Poole here.

Cant say Im new to game development. been over a team for a few years now. I took up an interest to Stencyl because i always wanted to try my hand at some form of coding. But I always failed hard with the c++ or C# learning kits that were out there. They just never held my interest much. Stencyl seems to be doing what they couldn't. So, I decided i'd try to use it for a few simple ideas.

Getting a bit stumped on crash course 2. But Im holding in there. Which is a VERY good sign! So maybe I'll have something worth showing thats of my own. Not too far down the road.

Hello Mike,

I am confident that you will manage to materialise your ideas easily after gaining some experience. If you have not programmed before fear not, you ll get the hang of creating pretty impressive things in Stencyl in no time. As a member of the community i want to welcome you and urge you to submit any questions you have in the forum.

Everyone is very friendly and helpful here so ask even if it sounds like a triviality :D.

Cheerio
Above all, try something.

Hey there!  8)

Having been unable to find a program where I could finish up a game I started just over a year ago, I found Stencyl this month and thought I'd give it a shot. I've got a good feeling about this because this time the software feels complete, whereas the older programs I used either had too many unworkable bugs or were just too new despite how great they were to work out.

Went through a couple of tutorials and while it may take some getting used to, I can picture Stencyl really working out well as long as I keep at it. See you guys on the forums.  :D

Welcome LS15

My suggestion is make a few very simple games first like a pong game or a very simple platformer. If you re having trouble visit the ask a question section, someone will help soon enough : ).

Hey Stencyl community. I just started getting into games and I saw the power in Stencyl and decided to check it out. I struggle for game ideas but at the moment I'm making a small little game in which you dodge obstacles for as long as you can. I haven't really got far at the moment but I will get it done. If anyone would like to work with me or help me along with Stencyl so I could be at least an amateur then I would greatly appreciate it. Also, Goku is my hero. Just Saiyan ;) Bye Stencyl community.

Hey I'm Steven. I'm seventeen years old and I develop games as a hobby. I'm here to meet new devs and play around with Stencyl.

(Above images are a few of the prototypes I've made in the past..)

I've been using game maker for a while now, but it's nice to try something new for a change. I've always done my own programming, music and art.
Feel free to PM me if you're interested in working together on something or just talking about game design and becoming friends!

FAVORITE GAME: Ocarina of Time
The character and environment designs blow me away!  ;)

Hello everyone,
my name is Clemens, online I go by Rostiger. I am a co-founder of Broken Rules, an indie company from Vienna. We made a game called And Yet It Moves for Win, OSX, Linux and WiiWare. Our second game, Chasing Aurora was released on the Wii U with the launch of the console a few weeks ago.

I'm the lead artist on the team and usually my hands are full with creating content for our games, but when I have a bit spare time I like to work on my personal stuff and prototype ideas.

I stumbled over Stencyl when I was searching for an alternative to GameMaker, a tool that I have been using for quite a while. Although I enjoy how straightforward writing game logic with GM is, they really made a mess with their DRM and their non-unified approach on operating systems, which turned me away from them.

Stencyl looks like a potential replacement for GM and I'm looking forward to dive in further!
Cheers!

Welcome, guys!

@Steven, I love the artwork!

@Clemens, And Yet It Moves is fantastic! I picked up a copy from one of the Humble Bundles and really enjoyed it.
