Found it looking up Box2D, recommended by Rex van der Spuy in his book, Foundation Game Programming with Flash.
Nothing is impossible! It just hasn't been done yet!

We were mentioned in a book? Cool, didn't know that.

I may be wrong, but I think he means that Box2D was recommended in the book, which led him to find Stencyl. If it's the book I think it is, it was last published in 2009, and is unlikely to mention Stencyl.

I used to use Scratch, but one day I was browsing the web for the customizable MegaMan Battle Network Engine and found a link from here: http://www.legendsbreak.com/games/test-customizable-mmbn/ to the Stencyl website.

I found out about stencyl after hours, and days of searching for an easy to use game making tool. After Game Maker 8 fail me, I decided to try stencyl. Even though it is the easiest to use program I have found so far; I still struggle without any professional help.
Games: Arrow Mania, Breakout/Outbreak, Water Drop

I was looking for game makers that weren't too difficult to make, because I don't want to make just RPGs with RMVXA.
I can tell this is going to be a lot more trickier than the latter.

I found out about Stencyl through some Game Maker blog. The article's writer was comparing Stencyl to Game Maker.

CURRENTLY NOTHING HERE

Stencyl is basically the least confusing game making software out there...

i found out about Stencyl when one of my friends told me that i should go to Geek Squad Summer Accadamy in the summer of 2012. well, i went there mainly because i was already into making games at that time, and i was told by my friend that they teach you how to make games there, so i went. well i had a blast there, then it was time to make games... they introduced me to Stencyl there. i fell in love with Stencyls simplicity but power (the other program i had used was really hard but didnt really do what i had wanted) and i downloaded it and loved it! thankyou Stencyl!

As near as I know, the first time I heard of Stencyl was during a random Google search for alternatives to Game Maker. (I can't remember exactly where I read about it, though.)
