StencylWorks chat status does not update [FIXED - Restart StencylWorks Twice]

Whenever I change my status to Available The light goes green but the text stays the same (Offline). Look at the pretty picture:

Bug reported. On another note, it took e a while to figure out that SW chat is just for "My Friends", and since I don't have any yet (I'm not crying, really, it's just something that got into both my eyes) I couldn't get it to "work". Maybe it is jut me, but maybe some others think their chat isn't working as well. Don't worry, I can use the IRC chat outside of SW.

I just tried changing my status several times and I was unable to get this to display the same way as your pic does. I do have some friends in the list though, so perhaps it is possible that makes a difference, not sure.

I would suggest closing and re-opening SW, see if it continues. If it does continue, then click debug > generate logs, and post those here. We can sift the log files to see if anything pops up that may help.

I also cannot change my status, or add anyone. Here's my log:

I checked your log there triptych. It appears there is an error saying your account does not exist. The relevant data is below:  Hopefully someone who know more about the account administration can shed some light on the fix for this.

Code: [Select]
[LOG] MAXIMIZED FRAME
[LOG] Activated: Welcome Center
[LOG] Logged in as: triptych
[LOG] Usergroup: Beta Tester
[LOG] Frame was maximized
[ERR] Attempting to log in
[ERR] Failed login. Probably because your account does not exist yet.

Try this --

1) Close SW.
2) Navigate to your SW/prefs folder and delete auth.txt and boot.txt.
3) Reopen SW and sign in with your credentials again.

(This is assuming you're not using a custom workspace. If you are, delete those same files from the "stencylworks-prefs" folder inside of it.)

I tried it. All it did was ask me to login and showed me both crash courses again. The bug is still there.

Sorry, those instructions were really for triptych.

I'll do some peeking around. Can you post your logs, too, gmvasco?

I'm working on fixing this. Basically, there was a bug in our system that prevented all the StencylTalk accounts from being generated. No action (besides firing up SW) will be required on your part to make this work.

I'll update again when the fix is applied.

Alright, if you open StencylWorks and close it and then start it again, you should be good to go now.

I confirm that the bug is squashed. Thank you Jon. It wasn't a big issue, and even though you must be very busy on launch week, you got to it really fast.
I am amazed at the level of commitment you guys have around here, creating a great support for a great community.

I don't know whether this is or is not related, but after double-clicking TownSquare, Firefox fires up (Chromium is my default browser) with mibbit-based chat loaded instead of this inside SW.

We took out the IRC bridge to StencylChat, so the behavior you're describing sounds correct.

If Chat was took out, how you explain screenshot in work together section which clearly show old chat?

We took out IRC. What's shown is not IRC.
