mm I think you have to make sure that everytime you use the drawing block it has a "move pen to" indicating where the object you want to draw should be drawn, always before the "draw line or whatever", I have noticed that if you don't indicate that, the drawing rectangles, lines etc could be  being drawn somewhere else outside the screen

In this game, I don't have problems using those parallex actors + a few drawn objects doing that.

Hi

Look for user input on the events screen-->mobile advance-->Use the "for each started or dragged ..x of touch"

inside just put something like.. if (x of touch) is inside the button and (y of touch) inside the button...then...

That way even if something else touches the screen the button will still detect that there's somebody touching it, instead of just detecting the new coordinate of the new touch.

you have to use that under the "when updating" block

I think this is the most accurate way to make multitouch work, I'm not sure about the performance but i'm doing some tests for my game

im using a 960px (480px 1x) image for the background this way each parallex background only needs to mirror itself once (using draw image), "prota" is how i'm calling the main character. As you can see it's just a few lines of code and the performance quite good even with 3, 4 layers of parallex

I use actors for the parallex background effect, and i'm getting a good performance.

Each actor (background) has a speed directly related with the main character's speed, something like (negate((characters speed)/4)) something like that.
Those actors are anchored to the screen, and once they are out of the screen they go back to the origin point.

How do I repeat the background while it's moving, to cover the blank spaces? I use the drawimage option, to copy itself to the right or left depending to where the main character is moving.

The drawimage option is great to repeat backgrounds since it takes far less memory than putting 1,2 or 3 actors more.

and the effect is pretty cool, I will post a video of the game im working in.

Hi

I'm a bit confused since all the messages I've read so far about the retina graphics on the iPad 3 say that that will be supported on stencil 2.5 or stencil 3. I did a test today and I was able to visualize iPad 3 retina graphics just fine.

For the test, I chose the Universal (not 2x universal) option under the mobile settings, then I create a scene for iPhone with 16x16 tiles (320x480 scene), for those 16x16 tiles I import the graphics twice that resolution (retina), and using the tiles attached for iPhone you can notice every single pixel of the patterns... so retina for iPhone works great

Then I create an iPad scene (1024x768) with 32x32 tiles, and the graphics I import are twice that size, and again you can see the tiny pixels from the pattern, so retina for iPad 3 seems to be ok, at least with my test I was able to make it work...

..so am I wrong or is that most people use the universal 2x option for iPad, which just stretches the iPhone graphics and for stencil 2.5 or 3 there will be more options for Universal 2x?

Stencyl is more and more awesome everyday, at this pace there's no gonna be competition for this amazing tool  :D, I haven't tried the update yet but one feature I would love to see is more options for the universal 2x games, now they are full screen on the ipad but stretched it would be great if there was more display options... like pan&scan, letterbox etc. can't wait to check it out

Ive been having the same problem. Is the any other way to change the size of an actor? One that makes it collide?

BTW im having problems with the draw image & draw rects etc function, it works ok with flash but with ios seems to draw for a milisec and then dissapear, any idea about this? I thought that just using the drawing event was enough

thank god I found this post, that error was driving me nuts and didn't know what else to do, will wait for the 1.3.5

seems strange,in my case that happens with just 1 animation, the others work ok

BTW i've been working with the software for a couple of days and it's awesome  :) :)
