Hello @ all,

With the help of Merrak I was able to replicate something.
The user touches the screen and dots appear. Even if he's dragged, the dots move with him.
This really works perfectly!

Now I wanted to expand this function a bit.
I would like the line of dots to extend itself to the edge of the screen and where the dots should meet the screen there will be a red dot that
also moves with the line of dots.

I tried to build something via "trial and error". But I can't make it.
I dont get any further.

I have attached an example image.
And created a stencyl file.
Maybe someone can give me some advice?

Ask a Question / [Solved] Exlosion via image api dosn't work in one scene

Hi,
I downloaded the example file from this post and copied it.

I just adjusted it a bit so that it is now an actor behavior. In a newly created game it works fine. The actors explode as they should. The behavior use the image api.
However, when I add this actor behavior to my current game, it doesn't work!
When I paste it in my play scene it doesn't work. If I create another Scene it works. Damn!
Actors are the same,
collision groups are the same,
physics settings are the same.
Project is cleaned.
But the actor just doesn't explode. He just disappears. So he gets "killed".

It works:
- In a new created game
- In a new created scene of my current game

It doesn't work:
- in the play scene of my current game

I do not understand that. Why does everything work in a newly created game/scene and my current play scene doesn't?!
Does anyone have an idea what else could it be? Where is the difference in the scenes?

Hi,

Maybe someone can help me.
I have a small tileset which I want to use as a background. The set consists of a total of 16 tiles.
My intention is to set the 16 tiles and then right next to them the 16 tiles until the end of the screen is reached. As seen in the picture. To avoid large amounts of code I want to do all this in a loop. But I do not know how...
Does anyone have a tip for me?

Hello,
I'm a bit on the hose.
I want to design my game in such a way that the user gets a bonus (some points) once a day.
If he comes several times a day, there is no bonus the second time.
The next day, however, he receives it again.
I had the idea to do this with the Date/Time extension.
But unfortunately I have a knot in my head and can't get any further.
Does somebody has any idea?

Hallo @ all,
I prefer to write in the forum than on Discord. I hope anybody will read it!

I bought a new laptop, install Stencyl, import the games from old to new and now my Stencyl won't display my game correctly. When i press "Test game" the Compiler starts....work...and Start the allready installed game on my Android device.....BUT no matter what i change...  it is never updated!!
It always starts the "old" version.

I assume it is due to the "workspace".

Does anyone have advice for me?
Reinstall?

Picture 1: File > Preferences > Workspace
Picture 2: Tools > Workspace > View Workspace Folder
Picture 3: Tools > Workspace > View Folder for this game

iPhone / iPad / Android / My first Game with Stencyl "Roll Ball"

Hello everyone,
I've finished my first game. It's a balance game for Android. You only have one small task: the ball has to go into the hole.
I hope I haven't made too many mistakes.

Special thanks to Luyren for his help and his packs. These are really very helpful and save a lot of work!

Ask a Question / Interstitial Ads Events without function?

Hello everyone,
a question: can it be possible that the Interstitial Ads Events (e.g .: a fullscreen ad is closed) are without function?
When I load and display a fullscreen ad; and then close the fullscreen ad, the game attribute should be set to "true".
But that doesn't work. At none of the "Interstitial Ads events".
Does anyone have experience with this?

I have uploaded a first internal test of my game. The Developer site of Google tells me that my app required the permission
android.permission.READ_PHONE_STATE and I have to send a Privacy page. That's not the problem.
But I want to know why my game needs this permission.
I want to make sure that are not unneeded permissions.
Anybody knows why stencyl add this permission?

Ask a Question / Shooting on touch

Hello,
once again i need help from the community.
In one of my levels, the user can trigger a shot by touching the screen. That works so far.
But at certain angles the shot does not appear on the cannon but on the top right or top left, depending on where the player is on the screen.

I have attached 2 sample pictures to illustrate the problem. The last picture is the code I use for this.
Maybe someone can tell me what I'm doing wrong or how I can solve it better so that the shot is created exactly at the cannon.

Ask a Question / Anchor a actor without use "anchor actor to screen"?

Hi @ all,
the headline sounds a little strange.

If I anchor an actor on the screen and the screen moves afterwards, I always get "wrong" X and Y coordinates. Because the actor is always anchored at the screen, not at the scene ...

Is there any way to anchor an actor on the scene without using the "anchor actor to screen" block? Or to get the correct Y Position on Scene?

Hi @ all and a happy new year!

I have a problem with my game menu. I use the extension Camera Scroller http://community.stencyl.com/index.php/topic,57836.msg304666.html#msg304666 for my menu. It scrolls my level buttons smooth.
I have build this for a android device. It works sometimes very strange.
For example: when i swipe faster over the screen the menu disappears.....
The Y of the first button is then "nan" not a number....
Or when i touch outside of the buttons, the menu scrolls some pixels up...


I don't find the reason.....

I have build a example file. Maybe someone have the time and the knowledge to help me, why my menu sometimes disappear...

Hi @all,
i have a problem and i don't find a solution.
I have add in my Tileset a "barrel" and i create a polygon as a collision bound:
See Picture #1

After the testing on my device the collision bound is there but in addition a square around my polygon...
I dont find the problem...

Maybe anybody can help me?

Hi,
 i need a little help.
I try to make a actor drag vertical and a different actor horizonal. For that i have edit a actor behavior (from StencylForge)

Basically it works.
But i have (at the moment) two problems:

1. The bars dont stop to move when they touch themself
2. When the bar touch the edge of the screen and the user release the bar, the bar jump a little outside of the screen.

I have make a example stenyl file.

Maybe someone can take a look inside and give my a advice.

Ask a Question / [SOLVED] Scoll Game menu

Hello @ all,

I need help in the topic scrolling up and down in a game menu.

I am currently trying to scroll up and down. Basically, I did it with a Scene behavior "Scroll".

But it doesn't look that good, because it stops as soon as I let go of the screen. I would very much like to have it like in an app. Where you just swiped and the page scrolled a little and slow down. (eg. Instagram or something...)
I hope I have made myself clear.

As I read, I can do this with an "invisible actor".
Unfortunately, I can't do it.  8)
Does anyone have a sample picture or a tip for me?
