As of now Storyline, Dialogue, Descriptive text for locations and items, and Background. Those are what I write the most but anything that's needed really. I have a little experience with level design as far as description goes.
I'm not sure how to move a post to another location.

Ask a Question / Getting Writing gigs?
« on: September 09, 2016, 08:47:13 pm »
As I have said before I am both a writer and a musician. I was wondering the best way to land a writing gig for games. That is my biggest desire in life, to be a writer for game developers. As of now I'm offering my services for free and would greatly appreciate any advice anyone could offer me.

Guess I should give a sample of my work haha.
Chapter from the Nazarai:
In ancient times, when the kingdom of Cephera still stood and dragons still roamed the sky. A war broke out among the kingdoms which threatened to destroy the world. Like a spark to tinder it started slow but in time the embers grew and burst into an inferno that spread across the world.  Knowing the worlds doomed fate, the sages of Caldeara gathered at their shrine in hopes to speak to the Gods and persuade them to intervene and save their world. They're prayers went unanswered however, and it seemed that any hope to save their world was lost.
As the sages went to say their final prayers, they heard the crashing sounds of the shrine doors being broken down and from the dust a shadowy figure stepped forth into their chamber. It was Cephela, The Mad King himself and as he walked through the corridor with his sword in hand, he began destroying all the monuments and offerings in the shrine. The sages trapped in the shrine stood their ground to defend the temple but the king had no mercy and in an instant he slaughtered the sages and laid waste to the entire shrine.
It was when the blood of their devout followers spilled into the holy waters of the shrine that the gods decided to answer their prayers and give the help the world needed so desperately.
That's it as far as a sample goes haha
I'll be sure to post more in time. Thanks for reading.

Hey everyone, My name is Poe and even though I am making games my biggest desire in life is not designing games its writing for them.
I have written game storylines since about nine years old. Through the years I have focused on a few huge ideas that I'm afraid to mention because I happen to believe they're incredible haha. Anyways, if you need a writer for any aspect of your games feel free to contact me. As of right now, I will write anything you need for fun until I build up enough credentials to be actually hired haha. if your interested contact me and we can discuss what you need in detail. hope to hear from you. thanks for reading.

Hey everyone my name is Poe. I got the name through hitch hiking around the country with a group of hippies. my love of LOZ clicked with a few of my friends and through my chaotic neutral nature they deemed me poe just like the chaotic little ghosts I love haha. I traveled for two years and met many awesome people a few of which I have became close friends with. I love writing stories, playing games, writing game storylines and playing music. I have wanted to be a game storyline writer for as long as I can remember so I decided to become a developer as a way to bring my stories to life... Tho none of my big ones will be worked on until I am way more experienced.. that being said I have a huge imagination and if anyone needs a writer for their games I offer my services for free because truly I love using my imagination and writing what I envision down.. so if your interested please feel welcome to contact me.

OK so it's just a visual thing. How would you make it to where an actor on one layer doesn't damage actors on another layer?

BTW the if health equals zero block doesn't work if health is taken below zero... so in order for it to work best that must be changed to if health is less than or equal to 0.

Shared Resources / Re: What Behaviors do you want?

Turn behavior based on character speed... basically if player and enemy both have spd at 6 they will trade turns one after another but if the player has spd of 12 and enemy spd is still six then the player will get two turns before the enemy gets one. if you could help me with this it would be very appreciated

I actually figured it out. That set up does pause. I just accidentally put it on a different scene. I have no clue how it happen but it did haha. Now I have it set to the actor and have added an unpause function as well.
