Ask a Question / HTML5
« on: April 30, 2013, 07:28:09 am »
Hi guys,

Is it possible for the moment to export HTML5 games? For example if we pay the PRO subscription and enter the closed beta testing for Stencyl 3.0 can we use the HTML5 export feature?

Thanks

I never tested iStencyl on windows but I don't think that should be a problem.

6
Yes, it includes everything you need in order to test your game on your iDevice.

It will not let you to publish to the AppStore, but you have access to all the features.

Completed / Re: how to terminate an iOS game?
« on: February 02, 2012, 05:35:39 am »
@Jon

From what I see on other SDKs they leave the developer to choose if the application will exit on Suspend (press home button) or not. I also found different apps/games that are using both options so I don't think Apple will mind that but I will make a search and see if they are saying something about this.

Found the info here (you have to login to developer.apple.com before clicking the link):
https://developer.apple.com/library/ios/#documentation/iphone/conceptual/iphoneosprogrammingguide/ManagingYourApplicationsFlow/ManagingYourApplicationsFlow.html#//apple_ref/doc/uid/TP40007072-CH4-SW24 - search for "App Termination"

This will be a nice block to include to iStencyl :)

To clarify, the project still goes through our servers which ever way you choose. (If you tried to publish from Xcode itself, Apple would reject the game)

Can you be more specific? Why would Apple reject the game?
I know that all the users are publishing through iStencyl server, but as scrapeenet asked, if someone will add a feature to the xCode project that was exported by iStencyl, wouldn't be possible to export it from there and send it to Apple?

11
@applaud why would you publish through iStencyl after you modified your code in xCode???

You can publish through xCode after, this is the way to do it. You cannot import an xCode project to iStencyl and try to publish it.

Thank you Alexin! :)

Paid Work / Vertical parallax / continuos scrolling
« on: January 04, 2012, 01:17:31 pm »
Hi guys,

I'm trying to create a continuos vertical scrolling of an actor I have in scene. The size of the actor is a little bit bigger than the screen height - 600.

I tried all kind of possibilities but I want to keep a high FPS so I'm trying to achieve this using only one actor, but I can't figure it out.

Anyone tried this before? Can you suggest me what to do in order to achieve this effect?

Thank you
