Game Art / Re: What programs do yall use to make yalls art?

For vector art (or skeletal animation of images), has anyone had any luck with Anime Studio, Spriter, or other bone-animation software?

I'm experimenting with skeletal animation now, though I'm not sure if I'll scan and color hand-drawn art or draw vector art. (And, yes, I'm reminding myself not to get too ambitious until I've had a few small games under my belt.)

Amazing art/animation, and congrats on the funding!

(I just found out about this game, and when I checked the KickStarter link it said "funded 2 hours ago!")

My name's John Haley. The reason I'm here is in part because I wanted to design a video game since I was 9, and in part because I'm running a play-by-post RPG on a forum... which doesn't require animation skills, but still, I have to draw a lot.

Anyway, I want to make a 2D multiplayer game. I think the realistic approach is to start smaller, using a single-player game with a character similar in design to one of the characters in my multiplayer concept.

My current avatar is Artemis. I'm going to try animating her and, if that goes well, she'll star in a game that's sort of like Athena and Kid Icarus. Y'know... platformer with a Greek mythology theme. Like Athena, the player is a virgin goddess. Like Kid Icarus, the player is an archer.

I'm still on tutorial #2, so I've got ways to go, but if I had fun making that green marshmallow guy jump on prongers, I think the learning process will be even more fun once I have my own animation.

I have little experience animating, but I think my first attempt went alright.

Here's a link to the one animation I ever made in my entire life: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BW9u3Ny6118
