I'm glad you have been able to keep this updated so regularly over the past few years! It looked good when I last saw it four years ago, but it is really coming along! I wish you luck!

My main qualm is definitely that the jumping is hard to control on platforms, but I hope you decide to keep working on this past the jam, I like it!

Thanks for the feedback! That's a really good point about having it just automatically reload, will push that update!

Collisions are definitely a little off, I might try tweaking them more, but I ended up having to settle with some weird collisions based on the way I was handling layering.

Thanks again!

Windows / Mac / Flash / HTML5 / Donut Cannon- Four years after starting
« on: October 30, 2018, 09:51:24 am »
I've started a lot of projects over the years that I never finished even though I liked a lot of them. I finally decided to go back and finish up a game I started almost 4 years ago. After a few weeks of polishing, it is ready for release!  It's a puzzle platformer about a donut that is also a cannon.

As an update it may have just been that my internet connection was too slow, it's never been an issue before but I was able to get it to work eventually!

Just released my first game since coming back to Stencyl! It was a nice project to get back in the swing of things!

Has anyone else tried uploading a game on Kongregate in the past day? I've been trying to upload a flash game but I keep on getting a timeout on the second step? I've never had this happen before so I was wondering if anyone else is having problems.

Ask a Question / Best Format for Browser Games

It's been a while since I've used Stencyl, but I was thinking about coming back for a while. I was wondering though, what is the best format for browser based games now? Is flash still fine or is the html5 at a point where it is the better export option?

Really enjoyed the 3d effect! Would love to see more done with this game! Threw me off when the world was much bigger than expected!

Ah yeah I'm debating at this point how I want to handle rooms and whether or not you should be forced to do them. It will kind of depend on whether I go more rogue-like or adventure based gameplay.

Thanks!

Had a really fun ludum dare this year. There is a lot I want to do to expand the game I made.  Right now it is just a procedural dungeon shooter but I would like to add more elements to make it sort of an adventure rogue like.

The entry: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/world-of-my-own

This is the first game in a while that I've been really excited to work on!

I managed to get music and sound effects done within the time limit which is a first for me!

Thanks! I have replied to the email with my key.

I think I will test the Contact Us form periodically over the next few months, just to see if I can find anything funky going on, on my end.

But again, thanks for helping!

I decided to send another "Contact Us" immediately after my last post in the thread, that one as well was not answered, though I did receive confirmation that it was sent. A few days after sending that I sent an email to the Stencyl Community email (the Jon one) although I have a suspicion that that may not have been good one to email as I did not receive a reply to that one in the week since.

Jon do you have any specific suggestions of a good address to email to resolve the issue?

Hmmm that is odd then, I received emails from no-reply stencyl thanking me for contacting them for both of my emails, and I received no other actual replies in spam or anywhere else. I will follow up via e-mail. Thanks!
