Does anyone know of  a simple way to tell if a collision shape is entirely within another?

I know I can do this by coding coordinates manually and checking through them, but I'd much prefer to use the existing collision areas and physics.

I really need a way to define a list attribute by its name with a tex block, anyone have an idea how?

I want to use the "for each item in LIST" block, but want to increment the name of the list in a loop eg. list 1 list 2.

as the title says, is possible to fade actor and not images attached to it? I know there are work arounds, I'm interested in whether anyone has managed to do exactly this? Fade the actor sprite, while leaving attached images unaffected.

Extensions / Multipeer connectivity

Has anyone played with this?  I'm trying but not making much headway.

I've got an example working in swift, but turning it into an extension is taxing me!!

The ideal would be a 'when ? ? ? happens'  event block, but I don't think you can do that with an extension.

i've used  the code Engine.engine.allActors.clr( actorID ) to remove actors in my game,

can anyone help with the code to add an actor back into the allActors Array?

I've a lot of actors on screen that don't do anything for large parts of the game, and removing them seems to have significantly increased performance, I'd like to go further and remove more actors and then add them back in just before they start to do stuf.

Hi, anyone know the best way to keep an actor completely stationary while the camera moves? I know you can use the anchor to screen block, but that moves the actor to the front.  I've tried setting x,y to the camera position with an offset, but this results in an annoying jitter of a couple of pixels as the camera moves.

Hi, I tried the latest beta today, but I think im going to have to do quite a bit of work on my game before it will run on the new openfl.

I tried to go back to the old version, restored my game by importing a back up, but game wont compile for IOS (fine in flash), I suspect it's because neko was upgraded when I tried the beta.  Any way to restore the old version so that I can continue working on my game?

Hi, I'm using the external data extension - which is great! I'd really like to know if I can check if a file exists, or detect an error if a file doesn't exist. Does anyone know if this is possible?  I've tried using 'if image file from FILENAME' is null, but this doesn't work.

Hi, in the image api, setting origin seems to have no effect on my image Instance attached to an actor. I've tried to set x and y to 0.5, 0 and 1 with no difference in it's rotation point?

I'm assuming I set the origin point after I've attached it to an actor

Ask a Question / Would RGBA4444 pngs save RUNTIME memory usage

Does anyone have a definitive answer as to whether  I'll save RUNTIME memory usage if I convert my images to RGBA4444 in the resources folder? or will they just be reconverted back up to a higher bit depth at runtime?  Also, has anyone looked in to using the native PowerVR format  PVR to store images?

I know I can easily put blocks together to get a list of actors in a layer, but does anyone know if there is a way to get a list of actors in a specific wit a code block (as I'm sure this list exists in the engine already).

 The reason is, I've got a lot of actors on screen, but only need to sort the z-order of a subset in my middle layer.

Hi I want to convert a string eg. [Actor 349,exampleactor]  into an actor attribute.  I've looked for an 'anything as actor' type block, but can't find a suitable block.

I'm sure it's easy to do with a code block, if anyone can point me in the right direction I'd greatly appreciate it.

Does the 'atlas with ID ?? is loaded' block work?  it doesn't seem to do anything for me.

Ideally I'd like a start scene scene that  uses the 'load atlas with id block' to start loading the assets for the following scene, and a start button that  only appears when the  ' atlas with ID (number) is loaded' boolean becomes true.
