Well to save you from repeating yourself twice a week and clogging up the thread, I'll keep this thread updated with any progress on the memory issues.

Change that 3 days to 1 month and then I'll agree with you.  You expect too much from a one-man business with part-time volunteers.

Good point, sorry for clogging the thread.

And I just released I answered these already on the same page.  Please catch up with the thread before asking questions.

I did catch up on the thread, I have probably read over 50 of the pages, so don't assume that I haven't.

However, I was checking whether anything had changed since the three days ago when you last replied. Sorry if I have made a fool of myself, but I feel that 3 days is a big enough time gap for something big to have happened.

Any more info on the memory loss bug, or on whether OpenFL is going to replace NME and whether Stencyl is going to adapt at all.

Also, anything else preventing the release of an open beta?

Just a couple of crits of that screenshot.

1, To me it seems that the cat belongs in fornt of one of those tiles, to me it looks like the cat is in the background.
2. Massive quality change. The ground is really nice, the graidnted background doesn't fit at all. The cat is quite low quality pixel art and the stars are... You need everything to have the same graphic style.

1. That is built up snow.... shall I place less?

2. Lower the ground quality, or increase the player quality? The background is placeholder, I have new higher quality star graphic

1. At the moment the snow looks like a 3/4 view ground, To me it seems like it shouldn't be just one colour if you want it to read as built up snow.

2. It's not the quality, just the style. The player is made up to have a very 'olod school' look whereas the ground looks as if it has been digitally painted quite well actually.

Just a question, are there any specific times that we should expect to see you on your livestream? Or is it just whenever you are on, and what time zone do you have?

If you are thinking about making a massive game where you make levels and share them, you may be interested at looking at www.everybodyedits.com, it is basically aa game that is centered around what you are planning on, I don't know whether you could get in touch with the developers to see how they did this, but it is worth taking a look.

Game Ideas / Blue Box, Sliding the whole way home.
« on: August 05, 2013, 05:25:34 am »
Here is the start of my new, and first flash game: http://www.stencyl.com/game/play/20635

You play as a Blue box. As this game was designed for mobile, the arrow keys are only there so you can play, normally it would be swiping.

When you move, you move until you touch a wall. Pressing a button opens all doors of that colour and closes all gates, some levels are planned where you have to press buttons mulitple times to complete the level (each button can only be pressed once at the moment.

To complete the level you have to get to the green box

Features:

Doors
Gates
Scrolling (not utilised yet)
Restarting
Movement

Planned features:

Teleporters
Enemies
A tutorial
A storyline
60 levels (minimum)
Multiplyer (make two of yourself)
Countless secrets
Pushable blocks
Levels creator
Polish
Highscore biards
Some sort of star system for speed completed

I hope you can see the potential and I am relatively sure I can program all of this in.
If you have any suggestions or just crits feel free to say.

I hope to have this completed by the end of 2013.

Much of the complexity depends on whether you want it to have random generation or not (although I can think of a few ways to do it with random generation. All that it is is moving the camera up at a constant rate rather than setting it to the player's x position.
