Even though this isn't Stencyl, I've posted this in the Chit Chat area and it might interest some of you in general. However I do plan to port this video series with Stencyl from start to finish later this year.


I sold an eBook on the Scirra Store called "Create Android Games within 1 hour" which showed the basics of creating a game from start to finish in Construct 2 and exporting as an Android game to mobile devices. I've sold over 140 copies of the eBook and decided to make it free and create a video series from it.

I finally finished this game which means I will come back to Stencyl soon and see what I can whip up. I'm gonna take a break from big projects and start making small minigames until next year. Deadly Space Boss Arena is a deathmatch based arcade game where you're pitted against different bosses. Kill them to gain cash to buy/upgrade stronger weapons and hats. Right now, the game is only on Android, but there will be Ouya, Windows Phone 8 , HTML5 ports coming in September and iOS version is TBA..

Hey guys.. So I've been away from the Stencyl scene for awhile because I've was developing Deadly Space Boss Arena 2 which will release on my birthday on August 27th using a different engine. I'm so excited for the release that I've decided to make my ebook that I created earlier this year for free to everyone here interested on how to get my downloads for your mobile games.  I will update it over time when I'm free. The same tips that I've posted in this guide has helped My Critter obtain over 135k downloads which of course helps with revenue. Enjoy!

Deadly Space Boss Tactics is a turn-based "luck" game which players will roll a dice to consider how much damage they will output to enemies and bosses. Roll a 1 will make a player or enemy lose a turn and rolling a 6 will give double damage. This game won't have a real storyline. It will feature random questlines that will help the player progress levels. There's not many turn-based games made with Stencyl (if any) especially for a mobile device and this project is very important to me even more than My Critter was.



*Planned Features*

- EXP/Level UP system
- Weapon Enhance Upgrade System ( like +1, +2, +3, +4, etc)
- Weapon Crafting System ( gather materials from random enemies to build various weapons and armor.)
- Planned updates for mobile versions to add more quests, monsters and bosses and increased level cap.
- (Low Possibility) (PVP based fighting... based on PHP...?)

Well, it's about that time that I go ahead and release the source for My Critter. I've had fun working on this experimental project, but (as of May 20th, 2014), I won't be updating the game further due to new projects that I'm currently working on. My Critter will still be available on Google Play store though. The full source code includes everything including the graphics (which you can't reuse or resell. There will be a future license in the future for the graphics by Twisted Identity.. You must use your own graphics (reskin).) If you do plan to use this source, I want to see your game made from this and I hope you make decent money publishing your own app from it. :) Hell, maybe you can code features better than me, because god knows I'm not perfect :)

Dialog Extension / [Solved] Porting to iOS

Hello. Right now, I'm in the process of porting my game to iOS. So I exported my project for use to put on Dropbox and exported on a Mac. I've installed the Dialog extension and tried to export to iOS, but instead I got this. What file do I need to edit to correctly point to the right directory?

iPhone / iPad / Android / My Critter (Android) (Flash) (FREE!!)

Hello.

My Critter is a tamagotchi/Pou-like game where you can create your own critter from scratch and do various things with them such as play mini-games, send them to sleep, feed them and more.

My Critter is finally out on Android developed originally under the Construct 2 Engine by two guys. Myself (programmer) and my friend Jon (Graphics Artist). Construct 2 doesn't export native Android/iOS and relies on third parties such as Ludei and Intel to export apk, etc. After testing the original C2 port, I didn't come across any problems until using Ludei's CocoonJS service (http://www.ludei.com/cocoonjs) which translate HTML5 files to iOS, Android, Ouya, Tizen, etc.. Ludei's support is near non-existant when it came to fixing their API that they had for Construct 2, so I got fed up and ported My Critter from C2 to Stencyl in 2 weeks..

These are screenshots from the C2 version, but it's more or less of the same thing in Stencyl.

Anyway to get around this?

See the circle..?




I can make the bottom part of that green perfect with no collisions, but I can't jump onto the platform when I'm under it. Only when I'm high enough in the air to jump on it. Is there anyway, to jump on the platform from under it like in the Mario games?
