So Jon, where is this roadmap that all the Stencyl users are asking for?

@Jon, this is great and all, but why isn't it on a roadmap?
Everytime Stencyl users get worried we post and ask if Stencyl is still alive. That shouldn't even happen to begin with.
Stencyl really needs a software roadmap on the site, that is frequently updated,  so that paying customers always know what Stencyl is up too.

The last change was July 13. Today is August 3rd. I've mentioned this a ton of times, It feel like the Stencyl company is letting us down. The roadmap is empty ( they keeping saying their going to update it, but when? Its been months since they said that), we have no clue what they are working on. Jon doesn't post us updates on what is happening. The Stencyl blog **mysteriously** disappeared. And the nightly updates situation is ridicules.  The last update in July. Why calling it a nightly update if you update once every month?  And its usually just one fix! One tiny fix, for the  update!!

If Stencyl is alive, they don't seem to be showing it.

Attached below is a behavior on the Stencylforge that accomplishes this. This great behavior was created by    mdotedot . I've used this behavior my self as well. Works great and is very usefull.

Ask a Question / Re: Best way to do this?
« on: July 27, 2017, 12:15:48 pm »
So I figured out if I went with animation, I'd have to draw 148 animations. It seems better to go with anchoring. However this might end up complex code because I'd have to anchor it perfectly and change the rotation based on what the player is doing. And at the same time, I have to make it look as if the player is actually holding a weapon.  Are there any behaviors out there that support this?
I'm sure someone down the line who was using Stencyl wanted to do this as well.

Hello,

So in my game I'm trying to figure out the best method to use for the actor to equip weapons.

1. Create 50 animations of the actor with the weapon and change it to those animations with the actor collides with the weapon.

2. Anchor the weapon the the x and y of the actor.

For those who have done this sort of thing before, I'd really appreciate if you'd left a comment of which one works best.

Thanks,

Adobe is discontinuing  Flash , Kongerate is moving towards HTML5,   FGL is done,  yes Stencyl team we need full support for HTML5 already. The industry has moved on.

Adobe announced today that flash will be discontinued by the end of 2020.

It looks like flash is over.

I've been following the Assetforge project by Kenney ever since the beginner. A free copy sounds great! Signed up!

Ask a Question / Re: Events With Tiles [Solved]

So you are kind of converting a actor into a tile? But still having the default abilities of actors?

Yeah me too. I'm just wondering why Stencyl allows users to add actual actors to that group. Causes a lot of confusion. Anyway, this case is solved. Thanks for all your help LIBERADO!

So why does Stencyl let you add normal actors to that group?

When it says on the block
" When an actor of actors hits an actor of tiles "
Is tiles  a actor group for only actual tiles, or is it just a actor group with the name tiles. I'm curios because I could add normal actors to that group.....

How do we set who is actor 1?
(sorry for the basic questions, I don't generally use collision blocks)
