Ask a Question / Possible to set music loops to a specific time?
« on: April 28, 2018, 10:53:31 pm »
Currently I have a game with an idea with 'progressive' music that evolves the further you go.. but the music seems to go out-of-sync on slower mobile devices(It takes time for each loop to load). Has anyone successfully found  a way to sync up multiple loops of music playing at the same time on mobile(slower devices).. or does anyone know how to hard set the position of music loops? (Code/blocks)

Soul Sword

Hey guys, made something for LD Jam 41.

This was supposed to be a game about maintaining your shop, but it turned into a hybrid idle game.

Instruction Tip: Go in the dungeon and at the end of each room you have 2 choices to “save” your loot, or continue forward with the risk of losing a lot. You can sell your kept loot to get yourself some souls and buy new swords!

Controls: Arrows - Move / S - Attack(hold/press) / Use mouse for the shop.

Programs used: Stencyl, beepbox, sfxr, Graphicsgale

Journals / Punch Kings [iOS /Android]
« on: March 21, 2016, 02:44:44 pm »

Punch Kings - is a 2D platformer beat em' up. You play a bear descending from the heavens whose goal is to  beat up all the other bears to become the "punch king". I'm focusing on short challenging gameplay with many unlockables and player cosmetics in the form of hats.

  • Endless action : Fight through 3 areas with waves of enemies progressively getting harder.
  • 3 Areas :  with its own unique boss. After a set amount of waves you fight a boss and jump to the next area.
  • Unlockables : in the form of hats and bears with their own unique punches. You can also buy certain bears, power-ups, and hats with gems and/or gold tickets(obtained through missions) in the shop.
  • Random missions : If completed you get a golden ticket you can use for something. (Shop, lottery?)
  • Amazing cutscenes just because.. eye candy!

It's still quite early on, though I wish I would've started a devlog earlier, but alas.. better now than never. :)

Feel free to follow me on twitters!

Hey guys!
I'm wondering if any of you know how to get the name of a scene through a custom block that uses a "scene" block field or any scene attribute for that matter. What's currently happening is it's always printing out "[object Scene]" and transitions toward scene "0".  I don't know if I'm missing something.

Help is much appreciated! :)

Testing the latest Stencyl (b8376), actors in simple physics mode are failing to collide into tiles that are set to square. All other collision shapes seem to take on the square collision(atleast collisions work with em).  The rectangle collisions act as squares as well.

This also happened on the prev. version of Stencyl I've had(forgot which). It's weird because my older games seem to work fine in SP mode regarding tiles. This only happens when I make a new game.

This might be an issue with my specific installation, but I'll just put this out here if any others are facing this issue.

Ask a Question / Pixel perfect scaling?
« on: March 21, 2015, 01:48:54 pm »
Is there a way to scale games pixel perfect when going fullscreen on windows? I've tried the different scale modes, but still no luck. The only one that scales perfectly on different screens is "fullscreen", but the resolution is far too low to use.

This is without AA-

With AA- (The above still persists, but far less. + some pixels are outlined )

Is there a fix I'm missing? I was thinking of moving to Unity for this, but I'd rather stick with Stencyl, if anything.
