Ask a Question / Collision between actors not detecting

Hi,

I'm trying to make my actor collide with another actor and upon mouse release, kill self.

Both have collisions and both actor type collides with each other under the settings.

I can't figure out why the collision is not working. Dustbin is also not a sensor.

Am I using the collision blocks wrongly?

I'm trying to create a function where players can decorate their scene with furniture. Players can place furniture by dragging and dropping them onto the scene. But I want it to follow a grid.

Is there a behavior for drag and drop based on grid? If not, can someone point me to a tutorial on how to program that?

Hi,

I have an issue with the items in my list being repeated each time I change scenes. Is it because of the Created events?

I want the current food preference to show just 1 set of type of food list, instead of it being repeated each time I change scene.

Hi,

I created an attribute called pet, it doesn't show in the drop down list when I choose Attribute in the block. I tried reading up on attributes in the stencyl encyclopedia, but the attriit only tells me the types of attributes that I can create. So I'm not sure why the Actor Type attribute I created could not be shown, only Actor attribute can be shown.

Hey, I tried using the MathEasy distance extension block to measure the distance between 2 actors. I'm trying to create a behavior that I can use across all the food, calculating the distance between Self and Pet. But when I select it, it only shows Actor and not the other attributes. How do I set the Actor to my pet so that it only interacts with the Pet and not other actors on screen?

I've also have a problem. When I release my mouse, the food kills itself even though its not near to the pet. Did I use the block wrongly?

Hi,

I want to create a behavior, where 1 actor's collision enters another actor's collision, this activates a sensor, deactivate when both actors no longer collide, and upon mouse release, triggers an event.

I notice a sensor block, but I don't know how to set it up. I also don't see any sensor under attributes.

Basically, I want to feed food to my pet and I'm using a drag and drop feature, where the food will be fed to the pet when dropped on the pet.

I'm trying to do a drag and drop function. I can set the item to follow the mouse position upon press. But how do I set it to the last location of mouse release? Which blocks do I use?

Hi,

I'm creating a pet simulator where the happiness, hunger and dirty meters will determine what emoticon will be shown when player clicks on the pet.

I'm not good at programming, so I thought of setting conditions for which emoticon to be called out. But this creates problems because 2 or more emoticons were called out instead of 1.

Is there a better and more organized way of doing this?

Hi,

I'm trying to create a Dirty emoticon for my character, where the Dirty emoticon will appear at random times once the character is Dirty.

Clicking on the character will also bring up other Sad emoticons based on the Sad meter, but once the character is Dirty and if player never clicks on it, then at random times it'll show the Dirty emoticon.

Right now it is not working and the Dirty emoticon keeps getting created. I'm not sure where and what went wrong.

Hi,

Is it possible to make games on Stencyl that runs in the background when player switches to other apps? Like keeping it on and running in the background, not closed entirely. Because I want to create a system in the game that counts the players steps, like those health apps.

Will doing an Extension be feasible?

I want to make my pet have a more natural behavior. I'm sure what I did is not the correct way, especially with all the randomness...
I want my pet to look left, right, then move a bit etc, all within the boundaries of the screen.

Is there a better way to do this?

Hi, not sure if this has been done on Stencyl before, but how do I hold down left button mouse and move the mouse to draw a line, when finished, release the mouse and the actor will follow the line?
