Shared Resources / Bullet Manager Now Available At StencylForge!!!
« on: October 03, 2015, 04:22:30 am »
Hey all! I have put together a bullet manager behavior to help you guys perform tasks such as fire bullets at mouse position and fire bullets at actors. the bullets can be rotated and you can also choose to destroy them at their destination as well!

This Behavior Is Called: Bullet Manager.  Search it on the forge!

Below Are a couple Screen Shots. The first details available custom blocks and the second shows the inside of the behavior.
Good Luck and Have Fun

Hey again I'm working on Sound King 2 and am going to incorporate "Scene Playlists" however, I would also like to be able to allow the user to retrieve playlists from other scenes. But, if a scene has not opened; the playlist data for that scene wont be added to the database. So can I have one scene grab all of the default data from another scene's public "Sound King 2" variables / attributes?

and if so, is there a code that lists all scene names? (so I can loop through it and check for Sound King 2 and get the info)

thanks in advance for your time and input.

Just trying to set position for sound channels. I'm willing to do some coding but need to know where to look for the info that I need.

Ask a Question / How To Create A Custom Class In Haxe?

As you can see by the silly coding image below I'm obviously used to coding in C# but how would I do this In Haxe???

Ask a Question / Im Having an odd problem with this map can anyone explain?
« on: September 26, 2015, 07:43:56 pm »
Okay so this is for sound king 2 (I am building it to use maps instead of lists like the old version for faster data retrieval and less resource usage while searching for info.) The play sound function is supposed to stop itself and display a log error if you try to go over the 32 channels allocated by Stencyl. However it only works when I'm printing the map length at the end of play sound. (I suspect that the map is not compiling correctly without the print at the end.) But why??? Below I have marked the function in question with a red box (toward the bottom) Thanks.

Hey guys I have been away for a bit. But, I have learned to code.... in C#. I was wanting to know if I could potentially use these skills to build sound king 2. I feel that I could create much better stuff this way. Thanks for your time!

If not, then maybe someone can tell me why this doesn't create a custom block in Stencyl's interface...

And holy cow... code tags work here???!!!, Cool!

Code: [Select]
public function _customBlock_DebugBlock (__Sound:Sound):Void{

Ask a Question / Ideas for Sound King 2_0?
« on: March 21, 2015, 02:07:51 pm »
Hey guys and gals, as some of you may have heard Sound King 2 is currently under development. At this time I am Taking Ideas for added features and changes. So if you have an idea please let me know.

Sound King is an automatic sound and channel allocator. Basically Sound king can automatically find an open channel to play, loop, echo, and cross fade sounds and more. Additional details about the original sound king can be found @,35672.0.html

***Currently in the works***
*A game attribute no longer needs to be created (This now happens internally)
*Sound King no longer stops running after crash prevention enables.
*Custom Play Lists (savable) and blocks to control this.
*On The Fly Resource Usage Toggle
*Changes to many existing custom blocks.
*Sound King has been updated to use the map system (provides more control)
*Changes to the reserve channel system
*In order to "hopefully" go around a downloading bug from the forge regarding custom blocks contained within custom blocks, Sound King now triggers it's  own custom blocks (when needed) via code. Note that this has no effect when the custom blocks are used by you.

***Added custom blocks***

*Get channel for [sound]
*Get sound on [channel]
*Get name of sound on channel
*Sound is looping?
*Resource Usage getters & setters
*Get "time" for sound / channel (in seconds)
*Get volume for sound

*A while back, another stencyler had a great idea on a set of custom blocks that would allow for pitch shifting and other effects. If there is someone willing to help me with an example on how to do this, it would be much appreciated. Contact me either here or in my inbox for more details.

Thanks, PlaytheHnote.

Resolved Questions / #SOLVED Cannot iterate on a Dynamic value?
« on: March 20, 2015, 01:11:17 pm »
Hey again everyone I'm working on Sound King 2_0 and I have come across a problem that I do not really understand. Below I have posted a cut off small screen shot of the part of my behavior that has the problem. The error that I am encountering says: Cannot iterate on a dynamic value please specify...

Anyway, why is this happening??? (I know it has something to do with the map)

Ask a Question / Security Sandbox Violation?

Hey everyone, I'm still trying to master data transfers to and from my site. However, I think my site may be missing something or another as far as where this data will be stored. Below I have included a screen shot of my "test behavior" and the very end of my logs. If you need a full log generated in order to help me, let me know and I will post it.

*The idea behind this script; is to post the key "data" to a value of "100,100" then go back and get that key and create an actor given the info of the value.

Here is the error that I keep getting:

If anyone can shed some light on the missing components here I would much appreciate it.
Thanks again in advance!

Hey everyone, if I have an image attached at X: -1000, Y: 0 to an actor that rotates, how would I determine the X and Y on the layer for this image? The goal is to get another actor to follow this image while the image rotates.

Thanks in advance.

Ask a Question / Okay, how can I get this to return the data?
« on: February 12, 2015, 11:20:43 am »
Okay I think I have data being sent to my site, but how would I get the site to return the data?

Hey everyone, do any of you know if it would be possible to create 2 parts of a game (one for the gamer side and one server side for data collection and such) and then upload an swf file of the server side to a personal site then have the gamer side communicate and work with the server side to create an online style game?

Or any other better ideas for that matter? :)

Hey all I have this crazy idea about recording game data to my site using a variable that's embeded on the site itself... First off is this even possible via stencyl games? And if so what would I have to do to get stencyl to send and retrieve data this way?

Hey all I was wondering if there was a video or some tutorial specifically for the creation of an online game where players can play in real time with their friends and such?

Ask a Question / Asset loading question.
« on: December 10, 2014, 08:59:01 am »
Hey all, I have a question regarding image loading via API. Think of it in terms of atlasing.

If I want to load some images from file using the API, would these assets take up resource when not being used? Or do they only load when called out?
(I am trying to determine weather or not to import still background and other misc images this way so that I don't have to atlas them. I would rather not create an actor or brg image with one animation / frame if I don't have to but I  also don't want them to be loaded globally.)
